A Perfect Day
Okay, okay, I will admit it—there might have been a moment or two that my windshields got a little foggy at my daughter’s wedding. It might have been the humidifier in the room but no, in reality I think those were really tears! It was unbelievable to me to see how she had turned into such a beautiful woman. The music was flawless but that is what one gets when you have Kelly Price, Anasia, and Micah Stampley. The mood was regal as Bishop Noel Jones brought an elegance and ambiance that is consistent with his erudite persona. But for my wife and I, it was all about the look in the bride and groom’s eye. I will never forget the feeling of escorting her down the aisle, trying with some futility to get her to slow down her pace. I wanted her to walk slowly—in part because I am still healing and needed a slower pace—but mostly because I wanted her to savor the moment. I whispered in her ear to slow down a little, as she seemed like she was ready to run a track sprint to get to the altar. As we got closer to the front I could see why—the groom had tears running down his face and I swear it seemed like she was all he could see in the room.

Now I don’t know what the future holds for them. I am not sure that young people today have all that it takes to steer through the unpredictable storms facing their generation. I guess that is what our parents said about us too though, don’t you think? I do know that what caused my windows to fog, or more aptly my eyes to water, wasn’t Sarah’s dress (though it was beautiful …I picked it for her and brought it back from New York. Can you believe that she trusted me to reflect her taste and style that way?) And it wasn’t the star-studded crowd that attended the event, though that was a shocker to me as well. It wasn’t even the deep calm sense of the presence of God without which there is to me NO wedding at all. Aside from the daddy-daughter dance which I will treasure in my heart till I die, it was the look in the groom’s eye when he saw my daughter coming.

Daddy/Daughter dance*
I don’t like to share too many personal things, as privacy is only valuable to those who have forfeited it, but before I bore you totally, here is one morsel just to justify my own salty tears. As most of you know, I have two daughters, Sarah and Cora. I have for years complained about their choices in boyfriends. I guess many parents relate to that. In love one week, out of love the next, and on and on it went. I have ranted, raged, preached, taught, moaned, groaned, and prayed in hopes that they would find—and keep—the right one. Finally, I told them that I would mute my noise maker when I saw them with a guy who looked at them the same way that I do. I said when he sees in you what I see in you then I will shut my mouth and relax.
Well, when I walked her down the aisle and felt her trembling hand in mine, I looked up and there was her groom looking deeply into her eyes with tears unashamedly running down his cheeks and the same look of total enchantment that I have had since her mother birthed her! It was then that I almost lost it. I thought, “We do have something in common, we both love her and that is a good place to start!” So we were two wet-eyed dudes at the wedding, sniffing and snotty nosed. And it was a wonderful experience. It touched her mother and I in a profound way and hopefully they will weather well the vicissitudes of life!

Serita, Sarah, and me - getting ready to walk down the aisle*
Almost perfect for us was the surreal presence of well wishers from near and far. Preachers, business tycoons, political figures, and talk show hosts all came together. The eclectic guest list brought out both secular and sacred personalities, but they all came to join our many personal friends in wishing our children well. I knew my wife missed her mother being there. I knew that she remembered fondly her mother getting her ready for our wedding so many years before. Still my wife worked feverishly on Sarah’s gown, hair, make-up, eyebrows, perfume, and everything else imaginable. I too ached for my father’s reassurance and my mother’s practical wisdom, but I realized that those days are gone and these are quickly fleeting. I was so thankful for the people who I knew didn’t really have time to attend, but came anyway. The greatest presence was from one we couldn’t get a picture of, the Lord Himself, and with Him in attendance, then the wedding was a success!

I thought I would share a few moments in the wedding and the reception with you. I will show you these pictures if you will promise to pray for the newlyweds and their life and love together. By the way, if you want to see more Entertainment Tonight is featuring an exclusive review of the wedding this Tuesday (June 24th)—so check your local listings and set your TiVo’s! Okay, when I write again I promise not to sound like a bleeding heart father right off the pages of a Harlequin novel. But in this world with so few fathers who make it to this point I am glad I am still here in her life and next to her mother. It isn’t easy to raise your children in today’s times of MTV, BET, MySpace and every other space they get into. That doesn’t even touch the issues of the harsh light of notoriety, the public scrutiny, the critical and nonsensical people one contends with along the way, and the high expectations and insatiable demands of people who want your family to be more than they themselves could master. Now, I don’t know what the future holds for my daughter and her new husband, for me, for you, or for anyone else. But I do know I was as thankful as a thirsty puppy at a bowl of cool water to see that God had brought us to this point, and by His grace we will all somehow and someway grow forward!

Praise the Lord Bishop Jakes and First Lady,
thank you for sharing yur daughter’s wedding with us. I know that both of you were filled with joy. Not only because of her, but because you could see the results of what God had commanded you to do, train up a child. so you too need to be proud of yourselves. This sends a message to all of us, that we should do what God tells us concerning our children. He does not forget and He honors what we do. You have a right to praise Him. First Lady looked good too. I see why the daughter was gorgeous. I pray for them and all young people who are marrying today. I have been divorced for 34 years, never remarried, but raised my children with Jesus. Tell them to never go to bed with solving a disagree ment, and it alright to disagree. Tell them to keep everybody out of their business, and always keep God first. Tell them to pray daily. God will be good to them just as He was and is to you and your wife. Keep up the good work. It was in God’s plan. You can pat yourself on the back now.
Bishop and First Lady Jakes,
May God continue to bless your family. May God’s hands forever be upon Robert and Sarah, a beautiful couple. I am glad to be in the neighborhood of blessings. I have learned, I have repented and I have grown under your leadership. I will continue to follow you as you follow Christ. And, I will keep your family lifted up in prayer before God.
I Love you all unconditionally,
Pamela

I would like to say congratulations and I will keep Sarah and Robert in my prayers. And the dress, well all I can say is Wow. I have read some of your books and watch you on TV. I thank God for you.

Bishop, Whatever cannot stop God cannot stop your daughter and son in law from fulfilling their devine destiny together.God bless you sir
Mr TD Jake, The wedding was wonderful,I enjoyed the pictures. In all of my life, I have never seen a groom shed tears ,the way he did for his bride. It was a beautiful wedding and it blessed me. Because I have a daughter that is twelve and me and my husband are trying to steer her in the right path and show her God’s way and at time I think she is not on fire for God but seeing your message board it show me that teen-agers are teen-agers ,and some times my husband hold up a standard like you and doesn’t budge it is conformation that I need to support him when he cracks down on her and leads her to what God has for her! Thank you so much

Grace and Peace Bishop Jakes to you and yours. First and far Most to God be the glory!!!! I want to thank you so much for sharing your precious event with aLL of us. For me It brought tears to my eyes as well. I married my husband in a correctional facility, nevertheless, Jesus Is Lord. For me the photo’s revealed what I laways dreamed my wedding would be. That was 9 yeras ago. Tears blind me as I think and ponder, though I’m trusting God to do what only God can and will do. Not my will but thy will be done Lord Jesus. Bishop congradulations to you and yours and your inlaws. I know for actual fact that PRAYER CHANGES THINGS. Praying ONLY FOR GOD’S WILL TO BE DONE. Bishop thank you for being that vessel God has chosen to use. ( Shepard For The Shattered) That is what my generation calls you, even our God Father (smile) and Be Blessed. April, servant and child of the most high God.
Thanks for sharing those beautiful pictures and your daughter looked so lovely!! I pray they have a wonderful and blessed life together. You are truly a powerful man of God and I would love to listen to your word oneday in person. May God Bless you and your family.
Hello Bishop.
What a beautiful wedding and I loved the colors. It was so wondeful of you and your family to have share your special day with the public. Me and my husband was married at a young age and we did not have CHRIST in our lives at that time and what a struggle we had until we both find the LORD 5 years ago. You must always put GOD first and PRAY over everything that you do. I pray that Sara and Robert have a bless marriage. If GOD bring you to it he will bring you through it I am a witness my husband is now a minister and I can not get enough of thanking GOD for SAVING us and our marriage.
God Bless!

Bishop and Lady Jakes, God Bless Your Daughter and her new husband!!!! What awesome wedding photos and Bishop you have excellent taste! I’ve been married to the same wonderful man for 25 years and marriage is HARD WORK. I do believe with her spirtual training, spiritual partners and the obvious love they have for each other they will be happy! God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I began to read your comments I began to see myself. Sometimes we don’t know what we look like until someone else gives us a mirror! I too have two lovely daughters. One who is dating and one who thinks she’s ready but we have not released her to society as of yet. However, it is for my oldest daughter that my ranting, raving, teaching, preaching, and praying have been for. There is so much out there. I am however, encouraged to know that the I am not the only one having these concerns. I shall look at the outcome of your situation and know that God is still in controll of life. Not just mine but my daughters too. I shall recognize that the prayers of the righteous will avail and she, like your daughter, will by God’s grace make the right decision. Your view has given me another view for her life and like you I shall too stop the ranting when I see a man look at her the way My God, my father, and my husband look at me. Until then, I will continue to pray, but not just for my daughter but for yours too!
Thank you for opening up your life to us!
Congratulations to Bishop, your wife, beautiful daughter and son in law.
What God has joined together, let no man put assunder. I was blessed to see the Lord’s doing in your lives. May you mount up with wings as eagles, keep on running, and not be weary and continue to walk and not faint.

Bishop Jakes this is a message from a parishioner:
Bishop I would like to thank you for speaking life to me when you came to the House of the Lord in Akron, Ohio. I was ready to throw in the towel and had just lost my uncle two weeks later I lost my mother 30 days later my wife asked for a divorce. When you came to our church you called me from the back of the church and told me my life was not over and to get ready for a new beginning. That gave me the will to hold on. Life has not been easy but it has gotten better because I have the desire to live again. I just want to say thank you. The funny thing about the whole experience is when I was in prison in the year 2000, I had a dream or vision of you and I being in the same room. Six years later, you came to our church. Thank you.
Love Phillip Mayfield.
All I can say is BEAUTFUL !
God bless both bride and groom, and I look forward to experiencing the same feeling you are describing when my daughter takes that great and wonderful step with the one the Lord has in store for her. She is only 21 but, I do look forward with much anticipation.
T.D.Jakes, I just wanted to thank you for opening up your home to us. Your daugter wedding pictures beautiful. Bishop td jakes may god bless you and your family.

Hi,Wow she look like a angel, May God Bless an keep you all.
Dear Bishop Jakes and Family:
I read what you wrote and looked at all the pictures. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more beautiful bride. And the look in the groom’s eyes just blew me away. I am so happy for your daughter. You must know that you and Lady Jakes raised her in the right way, so you have nothing to worry about. You trained her up in the way she should go. She will make you proud (she already has). Well, this was just splendid and such an enjoyable read. Promise me that you will post pictures when the first grandchild arrives!!!
Good Morning Bishop:
You never cease to amaze me. Congratulations to Sara and Robert. I know with you and First Lady they will be guided properly.
While I am here, Thank You, My Spiritual Father, Pastor and Friend. I am beginning to understand why I relocated from Southern California after 36 years. Your ministry is teaching me who I truly am. Continue to provide the word of truth. There are some of us out here who desires the truth and that is what you give me.
I wonder sometime who feeds you. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thank God you are healing. I miss you.
Dear Bishop Jakes,
Your love for your daughter shows in your writing about this wonderful, joyous day as Sarah Dionne married the man of her dreams. I cried on Sunday when we saw the video excerpt of the wedding, I had to check myself and ask why are the tears flowing so? And, here is the explantion: Because I remember what it felt like to hear the Lord speak saying “that is your husband”. I remember fondly our evening wedding and how the Lord was right there in the midst. It seemed as if the candles were glowing in that place with a beautiful haze, but it was the presence of the Lord and the look in my husband’s eyes as he saw me enter the room that will remain with me forvever. You want for your daughter just as I wanted for myself a man that would love completely and unconditionally. And there he was on that day looking deep into my eyes professing his undieing love for me.
The joy on Sarah’s face was absolutely exquisite; full of hope for the future and no doubt great expectations. It’s so good to see that she had the same look I had in my eyes on Our Special Day. And you and mama Serita looked at each other with a slightly nervous smile for you both want the very best for Sarah.
Because we love you and Sis. Serita, we love everyone you love “esspecially the fruit of your loins” and our prayers were with them on Saturday as well as from hence forth because as we both know marriage is hard work under ANY circumstances and we want them to succeed.
Bishop, I honestly believe that God has absolutely marvelous and beautiful things in store for his people, if they are faithful to him in praise and service. Your daughters beautiful weeding is a prime example of God blessing the man and woman of God; you and your wife, with something to be cherished for the rest of your life. God bless you and your entire family. P.S., I cried before I saw the pictures, just by you describing the wedding!
Congrads to you Bishop, and your family on what God has done for the Jakes and Henson family.
Now is the time to not only trust God, but also trust in the wisdon that you and Serita gave Sarah through out her life. As you know your real true success is when Sarah uses the wisdon that you have placed in her and she thinks that she came up with it her self.
Much Love, one of your Arron Army friends
Cornelius
Bishop, Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures of Sarahs’s wedding and what I know was a special time for you and First Lady. My prayers are with you and the newlyweds. Bishop, for a man who wears so many hats it was wonderful to see you be just DADDY!! When you shared with us on sunday that Sarah requested Bishop Jones to marry her and you just be Daddy and walk her down the aisle…I was crying because I thought how your family has shared you for so many years and on this special day you could just be Daddy to a beautiful young woman. I’d like to thank you for being my spiritual father for 12 years. Words can not express what you and First Lady mean to me…..Mom and Dad I LOVE YOU ..Vicki Brown ( Your Potter’s House Child )
Bishop and Mrs. Jakes, The wedding was beautiful. I’m always proud when I see young people do it God’s way. I will pray for them much because the devil and believe it or not, some people don’t want to see them make it but the devil is outnumbered because saints around the world are praying for them and they have two of the most wonderful parents praying for them also. “They’re gonna make it”
Much Love!!

What a beautiful Bride! I am excited for the Jakes family.
I am touched because I can imagine the relief that a parent experiences once they see the fruits of their prayers for their child. I am praying that my sons have the same reverence and understanding when they come to that special moment.
I look forward to seeing great things from this couple in the future as God continues to guide their footsteps. My prayers are with the family and the couple that God will continue to keep you and bless you as you have poured yourselves out for so many. May God return a thousand fold peace, comfort, renewal of spirit and every need according to his riches in Glory!
Wow! T.D. Jakes I enjoyed your blog. Today is the first time that I’ve ever read one. I hope that your world continues to be filled with the love and joy of our Lord.
Dearest Daddy,
Our love, congratulations, and prayers are with you at this “barely describable” point in life! We have only been in the shoes of your son in law and daughter; still many years away from your shoes at this time!
Now married sixteen years to one wife, Lydia, we pray that Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Sarah Henson will experience God’s grace, love, joy, peace, and righteousness in their lives together.
The photos are so moving, so beautiful and so real!
May their lives together by God’s grace be “barely describable” as they allow God to order their steps and as they submit to His loving guidance for their lives!
We rejoice with you at this “barely describable” moment!
In Christ’s love, your kids in Kenya, Africa,

I want to congratulate you and your family. She was beautiful and i will be sure to pray for the newlyweds. You should be very proud you have a beautiful family.
Bishop,
Well… I have never blogged before and I thought that this would be a great time to start. Just wanted to say (a bunch of stuff but i’ll just say) I am so very proud when I see you handle all of the many stages of life. As a young man who is african american and is fairly recently married, a new home owner, and a new father who is in the ministry full time, I would be flat out lying if I said that i Never got scared. In fact some weeks the fear factor is higher than others but then I see you and people like you that God has blessed me with and I know that somehow some way this whole thing is not gonna shipwreck!
And although the station in life where my now 7 month old daughter will get married is at least 18 years away I have duly noted your grace strength and candor and hope to be a great father and example to others like you have so selflessly been to me. Be Blessed and Congratulations! We will continue to pray for God’s absolute best for the newlyweds.
Much Love
Tim

Dear Bishop jakes and First Lady:
My eyes got teary as I read about Bishop Jakes experience at the wedding. Sarah made such a beautiful bride. I got teary eyed for many reasons. See, I lost my Father three years ago 2005 and I have no biological Father to give me away when and if I ever get married. I lost my mom this year so she won’t see who I marry either if anyone ever takes an interest. I also got teary eyed because I always thought after graduating from college I would meet that special person who would cherish my personality and accept me for who I was but that never happened. To hear a father cherish his daughter in such a lovely way just fills your heart with glee. Sarah is so beutiful and looks just like First Lady. I know you both are happy for her. I didn’t make the wedding because I had to work. Tell her I wish her well and to just keep God in the middle and she will see God’s hand in the marriage. What God puts together, no man can tear apart. Congratulations Bishop, First Lady and the lovely bride, Sarah. God bless you and thank you for sharing. I made this page one of my favorites just to still have faith that maybe God can do the same for me some day.
Wow, congratulations Bishop on your daughter’s wedding. She looked very lovely and I know you are a very proud Dad. You inspire me alot and watching you walk your daughter down the aisle makes me want to cry. All im wishing the wonderful couple is a very happy marriage ofcourse with God being number one in their home.
Love, Beatrice
On behalf of Jim and I, we would like to say congratulations and the very best life to you and your kind loving family during this memorable time. The photos are awesome.
As my parents told us 30 years ago, “put GOD first and all kinds of doors will open up and its so true.
Be extremely Blessed.

Thank you so much for sharing Sarah and Robert’s big day! Sarah was absolutely a stunning bride. Robert looked so handsome and the two of them looked beautiful together. I have been so excited for the two of them. I will continue, as an intercessor to lift them in prayer before the Lord. I believe that God has some great things in store for them.
Blessings,

Greetings in the name of the Lord and congratulations on the wedding of your lovely daughter and your son-in-law. I pray that their life together will be blessed and fruitful. I also pray for the Lord to continue to heal you and strengthen you and your wife, Serita, for the journey, knowing that you do not walk alone, God is with you.
WOW, this is beautiful!!!
Wow…I’m actually moved to tears by the way Bishop narrates the whole experience. Its moving to see the concern that the dad had over the choice of the dude his daughter was to marry. I hope that we all, both young and old especially parents monitor our kids in all they do. The fact that the groom was drawn to tears by the sight of his bride, oh God….. i cant even get a closer idea of the love that he felt for his sweetheart. Am proud of you Dad because in being the best dad to your kids and i mean daughters and sharing your experiences on blog, you father me also.Lots of love to you Bishop, the best dad in the whole world.
The Bride looked so pretty.May the good Lord richly bless them in the journey that they have started together as a family. Congratulations to you Bishop Jakes and the family. God bless you.
May this be the first step for a long journey of life for Sara and Robert.
Congratulations Bishop,
Thanks for sharing your life with us. Your daughter was a beautiful bride and you & Serita were glowing! I pray for the newly weds and that you and Serita will get to see them survive a long and enduring marriage.
Bishop,
For more than just sharing your private life with us, I thank you once again for keeping it real as a man of God, for the people of God. It is hard for us sometimes to remember that there is a human side to the man/woman of God and life for them is for the most, no different than the rest when it come to family, we all are just God’s people with choices. So thank you for sharing your daughter’s beautiful wedding her parents did a very fine job of giving her to her new family member. I pray that wisdom be their ring of love and Proverbs 20:3 be one of their many prayers.
Bishop,
you and your family are so precious; thank you for sharing. God bless.
I got carried away with Robert’s tears; genuine tears. May that be the beginning of tears of joy for the new family.Congrats Daddy and Moma Jakes.
Bishop and Lady Jakes, job well done what a beautiful woman you have trained. As beautiful as Sarah looks on the outside in all of her pictures, to hear you speak of her doesn’t even come close to the inward beauty. Be Blessed!
congratulations on this joyous occasion few get to cherished.but with god’s blessing you were rewarded .wishing them longtime of love and true happiness for this was a blessed day that was mapped out by god for this two beautiful people.
Dear Bishop and Sister Serita ,how time flies. I remember your beautiful wedding, as I looked at Sarah and her husband ,I could see their love and respect for each other , as I looked at the posted wedding pictures. I remember,my son Rookie with his excitement in being in your beautiful wedding so many years ago. I remember Mom Jakes and Serita’s Moms tears of joy for the union that was taking place that beautiful day many years ago. I remember the beautiful ice carvings and all your extended family and friends. I knew when Bishop Quanda Wilson prayed over you and Serita ,that it was a bond that that OUR GOD had put together for many great things to come. I think about Serita’s Mom in her quiet way always there for everybody including me on that beautiful day. I know they are rejoicing with The Master in Heaven and looking down smiling at how beautiful Sarah looked in her gown, and Mom Jakes saying,” Tom picked the perfect dress for our granddaughter”,to Serita’s Mom. I love both of you and shall never forget either of you.Congratulations,Love Kaye

Bishop, Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful!!!!!!!
Wishing you and your family, especially your new son-in-law all the very best and of course, thanks for your sharing your family moments.
I could feel the love of the Lord, the parents and the beautiful couple from the mere words that Bishop describe in his Blog. You can see the love the two of them have for each other in their faces through the tears, the smiles and the glow upon them both. I pray that they will allow the Lord to lavish them with his love as they love each other. If they keep God first, forsaking all others, they will be a couple in love in spite of all the drama today’s world brings their way. Proverbs 3:5,6 fell into my spirit for this couple. Bishop I am sure that you and First Lady Jakes have prayed and given them a list of scriptures to help them along. I do believe that if they heed to Proverbs 3:5,6 their live and love will be blessed through eternity. God bless you all and thanks for sharing. I love you all very much. It is as if I am apart of your family and I am very grateful for that.

Mark 10:5 ….Jesus replied. 6″But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.
7′For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
8and the two will become one flesh.’So they are no longer two, but one.
9Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.”
Amen.
Thank you Bishop for sharing and showing us your beautiful daughter and your son-in-law wedding I pray blessings on their marriage.
Bishop praise God for you and your family and your daughters beautiful wedding. To see where God has brought you all from West Virginia is a blessing.
Congratulations to the newleyweds. There is nothing more beautiful than the love between a man and woman, but more importanley black love. It was wonderful to see how proud you were as you walkedd your daughter down the aisle. However, whenever my day comes it will be bittersweet because I won’t have my fathers hand to hold but I know he will be looking down from heaven watching over me. It was also beautiful to see how much love he had in his eyes as she was coming to meet him and they both have God on their side. You have done an excellant job in raising all your children because you led by example. God Bless the Jake and Henson family.
Bishop Jakes,
Thank you for sharing a portion of your life on this special occasion. You were blessed to have one of God’s best (Bishop Noel Jones) by your side along with your lovely wife (your Queen Serita) and daughter (your Princess Sarah). You are indeed a King among men.
I can only imagine the tears and joy, the hopes and dreams shared among you and your love ones and I know that God will bless and keep you all as long as you continue to keep Him in the forefront of your lives. YOU GUYS ARE BEAUTIFUL!!!
Thank you for keeping it real, because real people have to depend on God…it is when God sees us for who we really are He then can make us who He really wants us to be…His treasures in His Kingdom. I will continue to keep you and your family in prayer and look forward to hearing more from you.
CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. AND MRS. ROBERT HENSON…YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL AND YOUR LOVE SHOWS!!!
GOD’S BEST TO YOU ALWAYS,

I don’t typically read every email forwarded to me. The photos are innocently beautiful. I was moved by the groom’s appeal toward his bride. An unspoken emotion caught on tape. Something we have either experienced or wanted to experience; a look of total surrender and love; a look only God could bring. Thank you for your transparency and allowing us to be apart of your special day. I did not take it for granted. As you requested I prayed.
God bless you Bishop T.D. Jakes and God bless your daughter’s marriage. May the heavens shower you all with the blessings we often pray on others to receive, and may God’s hand be over all of you, protecting and guiding every step, every thought, every action, with the anticipation that all will be well, according to the will of God, for His Honor and Glory, and in the name of Jesus.
I am a Bilingual Minister anxious that God further your boundaries and enhanch your territory in benefit of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Please accept my humble congrats on such a wonderful wedding, although I was not present, but pictures do speak a thousand words, and with the words you have added on your blog, well, I am sure you understand.
God bless you, humble and faithful servant. If I can ever be of any assistance, as we are all in need of some, do call on me faithfully.
God bless you all.
Bishop and first lady,
Sarah is a very beautiful bride, and I live in Atlanta, but worked and attened your church for about a year, and I’ve heard you preach about couples and young people too. But you look so proud of her it makes my waterworks begin. My son is getting married in Dallas on August 23, 2008 and I want and need you blessing.

I would like to first and foremost state that , “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.” Sis. Sarah is as beautiful as her mother and she has a unique and angelic character. I pray that God will continue to bless her and Bro. Robert Henson’s union. For now they are ONE and not two. May God enrich their lives. Place everything before him and keep His statues. They are a blessed and loving couple. A real man can shed tears….She was ready to embrace her King… I love it!!! Thank you so much for sharing your family with us all!!! May God bless you and keep you and your family….

Bishop,
Thank you for sharing the photos of what must have been a momentous day for you. I know being the father of my one and only daughter, i constantly think about the day when i’m going to have to give her away, but pray, like you were able to, that i too will relax in the knowledge that she will have met a man that loves and cares for her as much as i do. God’s promise to you is that everything connected to you will prosper and i have no doubt (even with life’s uncertainty) that your offspring will be fine!
I’m so happy to know you are recovering well, praying for you always!
Paul

Thank you for this rare moment that you have shared with all of us.

Beloved Bishop and the first lady, When I saw the pics of your daughter’s wedding my heart melted for joy.
You have impacted many great things in life of the youth of this generation, and I believe its the time to be reaping the fruits of your labour. One can hardly see any man of God these days talking about their weaknesses but you say your own so that people can learn. I pray that the joy that the Lord have placed in your home will continue to increase and the wisdom to carry your flocks to where God have destined them for He will give you. M y beautiful first lady, God have helped you raise these kids, I pray you will not be ashamed in Jesus name, He will continue to uphold you, the strenght you need to continue supporting your husband the Lord will release into your life. Recently, the family faced a challenge on one of the boys, I believe the devil is already a big LOOSER, the Lord is your light and your strenght He will see you through.
Do ride on beloved bishop and first lady, the good Lord is definetely on your side’
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs Henson many prayers, much joy and much success in life.
ONCE AGAIN CONGRATS TO ALL ! THE WEDDING WAS BEAUTIFUL .MAY GOD CONTIUE TO BLESS YOU ALL RICHLY WILL ALWAYS BE MY PRAYER.(MELANIE BONAMY) FROM MIAMI FLORIDA
How precious it is to not only have your Father walk you down the Aisle but to be the minister doing the ceremony. Oh how Blessed that is in itself. I see nothing but love and proserity in their marriage as they have a good background and family history they came from and good up-bringings. may GOD be with you in this life together and fill it with nothing but goodness. love today for no man knows what tomorrow brings.
When I decided to write this note I asked Lord “What shall I say”
The first thought that came to mind was how very beautiful your daughter and her new husband are as a couple. They look like they belong together.
Then God’s words came to me as I read your comment about how tough it is in the world today.
“A Three Corded Rope is Hard to Break.” Ecc. 4:9-12
I have always felt when a couple has the Holy Spirit to Guide and direct them the enemy will have a very hard time breaking them apart. So your children are not alone in this.
I pray for God to Bless you and yours above and beyond all that you could ask or think,
Blessings,
Claudia
I can understand your tears, because as I was reading your Blog I was crying with you.
May God Bless both of them and you and your wife. Pray that the others will have as much success as the first one.
God Bless
Ruth
I pray that God will continue to bless this union. Sarah is radiant and beautiful. Bishop Jakes, I can understand her hurry to get down that aisle. Robert, I just love a man that shows his emotions, is not ashamed and knows that, after all, he is still a man. Congratulations and Best Wishes for a Godly, healthy and loving lifetime!
I know that you and your wife love your daughter, it is written all over your faces. I pray that God will keep them and that they will let the Holy Spirit lead them. My husband and I are the Marriage Ministry leaders at our church, New Hope on Elvis Presley, in Memphis. Our Pastor is Robert Matthews. It does my heart good to see young people still believing in the institution of marriage as setup by God himself. Many blessing to them and to your whole family.
Your sister in Christ Jesus
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Henson. Thank you Bishop for sharing this with us. These pictures are breath taking. My prayers are with you & your family, and may God continue to bless you and your family.
God Bless
As a child raised with both parents I can understand the feeling, and I know it has to be wonderful. I know with all that you have taught her along the way, she will carry it with her, and she and her husband both will be blessed. I am surely blessed for the many things which you have taught me, and is still teaching me through your many preachings and teachings. Continue reaching out to us single parents, but also the still married couples. Children need two parents. And seeing their father being part of their lives is so wonderful and so important. I can write stories on my father, and will always cherish his every moment he spend with us his children. The wedding pictures are beautiful and i do hope that i get to see the rest later, as I live in the caribean, on the smallest island, in the caribean, which is Saba. Netherlands Antilles. Missed your visit to Trinidad, but i do hope to visit you in Atlanta or Texas soon. Keep up the good works and congrats for your daughter and her husband God’s Blessing sto the family.
It certainly looks like everyone had a wonderful and joyful day at the wedding of your beautiful daughter. I pray that their lives are continually blessed and enriched with all that God has prepared for them. May God continue to bless you and your family in the most tremendous ways….Congrats to you all.
Congratulations and many blessings to the new couple and their families! Thanks, Sarah, to you and all your siblings for sharing your father and mother with the Potter’s House and the world in their precious ministry. Thank you for being willing to share such a special mementos from your wedding with the Potter’s House family and other well-wishers. God bless.
Her beauty seems to radiate inside out.
Bishop…you NEVER cease to amaze me! Wow, wow, and wow again! You are amazing beyond measure! Thank you! Thank you for sharing your most intimate moments with us..your feelings, your thoughts, your emtions..all with honesty and sometimes candor. I know you don’t have to, so, thank you again for doing so! It’s such a treat to get a glimpse into “the man” of TD Jakes. I appreciate it. I know that your privacy is as sacred to you as mine is to me. So, your public sharing of your private life, I know, is a tug from your heart into the hearts and lives of others. I’ll be praying for Robert & Sarah. Prayerfully, the same presence of God that visited you all during the wedding will be a constant for the two of them throughout the journey of life through marriage. Congratulations, on becoming a father (in-law) to yet another, while remaining somewhat a father to us all! Praying that God continue to richly bless you!
May God richly bless your daughter and her bhusband as they establish a new family. May he bless the Jakes household as you adjust to the arrangement (not losing a daughter but gaining a son). May the light of this blessed moment extend to my own daughters, Monique and Shelby. May I see the devotion in the eyes of their intended husbands as you did in Sarah’s. May the example they set extend across the airwaves and touch the hearts and minds of young people everywhere, to the extent that they begin to really see the beauty that God intended for marriage. In their house, in yours and my own, may we all joyfully testify to the truth that “Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.”

Dear Bishop Jakes,
I was so overcome with joy to view these pictures of your beautiful daughter and handsome son (in-law) :-)! You are right, you can feel the love emulating from the both of them, and if I can feel it through a picture, I can almost imagine what it felt like to be there in person!! The presence of the Lord was there throughout and his blessings will flow with them in their journey of husband and wife.
Thank you for sharing a little of your life with us out here in internet land and I wish you and Lady Jakes the best that this world has to offer.
With Love,

How beautiful and how rare an honor in this day and age…It gives hope to ones who pray that someday they will also be apart of the same God given experience. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful and private moment because you really didn’t have to.
CONGRATULATIONS & May The Love Of Both Parents & Children Be A Witness To Others That It Is Possible, Love Is Not Dead.
Congratulations! What God has joined together , Let no man put asunder. To the beautiful couple, Always put God in your discussion. He is the Head of your household, your husband and then you sweetie. Do not go to bed in anger. Please discuss and make up. We all are not perfect. Please, darlings, NO THIRD PARTY in your marriage.
Bishop and Lady Jakes, congratulations! And congratulations to the new married couple too! I have been waiting for Bishop’s blog impatiently. I kept on looking at my inbox to see what you had sent us. The wedding was truly beautiful and the pictures capture the love in the atmosphere. I promise to pray for your children because we all need marriages to work be they ours or other peoples’. Now I will set my tivo and watch some more. And Bishop I wish you and pray for a complete healing of your body.
Absolutely beautiful!!! Yes, it brought tears to my eyes just to read Bishop’s commentary and see the beautiful pictures. As I pray for my own marriage, I will pray for the newlyweds.
Bishop,
Beautiful pictures and blog … thanks for sharing!
I however am extremely impressed with your choice of the dress … you go Bishop!
Bishop your daughter is georgous, so is her husband.
Bishop Jakes,
Thank you so much for sharing your daughter’s wedding with us. May God continue to bless her and her new husband as they take this wonderful journey together.
Be Blessed!
Bishop,
You describe the wedding with such elegance I thought I was actually in attendance. Your loving words made me trimble with joy and admiration. And YES!!! the Father God was there smiling and saying to both you and Sister Jakes…GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB! I will defintely mention them in my prayers along with the millions of others that are taking and will take this journey into marriage. Oh the power of prayer, love, peace and joy. It is so comforting. Congratulations to your daugher and new son!!!
Renee
WOW is all I can say after praising God for the beautiful wedding pictures and a proud Father. I was in total astonishment as I read your expression of words regarding your love for your daughter. It was as if I was reading a book! Bishop you are an amazing man of valor, husband, Dad, friend, carrier of the divine purpose of God, preacher/teacher and I can go on and on without ever knowing who you really are. Just partnering with you through the years and having first hand training under your leadership tells me enough! Not to even mention First Lady Serita, with her beautiful self, a prudent woman, a wise woman, a great Mother and wife! This has been the best blog in my fairest opinion! Blessings!
Big congratulations to the couple and to you Bishop. You have blessed my life immensly more than you know am so happy for your family.
I lost my father some years back and i wept because i know i will never have the oppurtunity of walking me on my wedding day and it still hurts ,i cried when you acknowledged that it was an oppurtunity only few experince.
God will help us and guide us right.
Thank you Bishop for letting us in on your daughter’s wedding day! How beautiful the pictures are! I’m sure you were thinking of all the things you could write about and preach about. I so look forward to hearing what God spoke to you on that day Proud Papa! I will be praying for your daughter, new son in law that their marriage will be an example of what a marriage looks like, the epitome of Love Happiness and Joy that we all desire and hope for!

This is so beautiful. Congrats to the bride and groom. Bishop Jakes, you have a wonderful family and I pray that your entire family and your children’s children are blessed in the Lord. Amen!
Dear TD,
Your acount of your daughters wedding was heartwarming and engaging. I too have a daughter and those same thoughts and fears run daily through your mind. Although she is only just shy of 16, our daughter Brianna is quickly growing and maturing into a God fearing yong woman. It is with that same hope, faith, prayer and every other type of input, that you hope that you have done enough to set them in the right direction.
Congratulations to your daughter and your new son-in law on there marriage and I wish them all the luck in the world and much, much happiness the wedding was beautiful but what I like most was the love you have for your daughter and the comment about their choice in boyfriends in the past, that was real talk, you didn’t suger coat it in so many words it was like you said even though I am a bishop I have childern that are human and they are todays children and not back in Little house on the prarie times, I like that and I love to watch you on tv. I hope and pray I get to have that type of joy for my children one day as well as for myself the world needs more Fathers like you… Job well done.
Bishop Jakes,
I love reading your blogs! Congratulations on such a wonderful and blessed moment in your life and your daughter and new son’s life!! I am 28yrs old and will be celebrating my one year anniversary on July 7th and I can tell you that it truly makes a difference when you have Godly parents (who are still married) to look up to. My parents both are ministers of the full gospel of Jesus Christ and having them have total faith in God with giving me the right husband took my faith to another level. God is able to finish whatever work He has started in Sarah and Robert’s life. He shall complete the good work He has started and you will live to see that the God of your generation remains the God of our generation. He is the same yesterday, today and Forever and we will take back this generation for Christ. We vow to live in the ordinances of Godly marriage and our children will serve the same God that our parents served in Jesus Mighty Name!!
With love and Blessings from the East Coast!

Oh, this is so beautiful. Your daughter is just so beautiful and her husband is so handsome. Congratulations and much love to all of you!!!
Beautiful!!!
I am just getting chills and tears in my eyes looking at these beautiful pictures. Thank you so much for sharing them! God bless all of you beautiful people!!!! I thank God for you.
Praise God! The angels are rejoicing! It is so beautiful to see young love, expressed through a covenant with God. Bishop Jakes and Serita, you have done an excellent job. I have no doubt they will live a God filled prosperous life together. I pray that the angels will be encamped around them day and night. I pray that no harm or hurt will come upon them that they cannot overcome. I pray that they will live in Holy Matrimony as one all the days of their lives. I pray that they will raise their kids the way you ,Serita and the grooms parents raised them. I pray for peace that surpasses all understanding when the storms come.
I pray for seen and unseen blessings to flow in their lives, for now and forever more.
God Bless you! Be Refreshed!
Charlotte
To the beautiful bride and groom, may God continue to bless you throught out your lives. Always remember to lean not to your own understanding, but trust in God, his word and each other.
Wow!!! simply beautiful. Thank you for sharing your intimate moments with us, the viewers..that is indeed courageous of you. Your closeness to your daughter is indeed embraced by me and so many..for so few fathers display such love and intimacy, openly, with their daughters. Your truthfulness and trust in the love between the two, with the grace of God, I pray will carry them through. And yes, the tears in your sons eyes, brought tears to mine. That indeed was a sight to embrace and treasure..wow!! is all I could conjure up..the second I saw his face…wow!!!
Again, thanks for sharing this pivotal moment with us, and we vow to keep this precious couple in our prayers.
Thank you Bishop for sharing with us. I could feel the love shared on that day through your words. My prayer is that God continually bless the new couple and the families. God Bless.
I pray with you Bishop, that God continue to bless and keep their unity! I’m so proud of you Bishop T.D. Jakes; for standing tall in spite of the trails in your health you have faced. I’m thankful to see the beautiful fruit of your labor. Thank you for sharing, it’s inspiring.
WOW! Sarah has grown from a cute little girl to a beautiful young woman. In my Back to the Bible archives I have a video cassette (sounds so long ago) of Bishop Jones preaching and Sarah in a froo froo dress waving her hanky at him. Back then Bishop Jones had hair and Sarah had pigtails. Seeing the photo of them at the altar for her wedding brought back a precious memory. May God richly bless you Sarah and Robert as you pursue and fulfill their destiny!
Congradulation Hope your lives are long and fruitful.
Congratulations to the bride and groom. I will continue to pray for them as the Bishop asked. I was glad to read what Bishop said because it blessed me. I used to think that since I am saved I should not have any problems with my children, according to the Bishop who is the TOP of saved, he even had minor discrepancies with his children, at least I know I’m not crazy. I constantly pray for my children ages 32,31,27,21,15 that all of them will line up with the Word of God and find companions that respect and love them as much as I do.
Again Sarah looks beautiful and Robert is handsome, together with the Love they both have for the Lord, they will be able to weather the storms of marriage.
WOW….Bishop….I wish your daughter all the best that God has for her and her new hubby! Looking at the pictures brought back memories of my big day almost two years ago come August. You all look absolutely breath taking! I hope you all savored those moments…the day goes by so fast that once its all over you say….Whew!
I love the daddy/daughter pic….SPEECHLESS!!!
Congrats to you and your wife as well as the groom’s family.
To Mr. and Mrs Robert Henson
Both of you appear so wonderful together, may the lord keep you two together through the “hick and thin”. Keep jehovah first place in your lives then each other second. I will keep you in my prayers. I love to see young people get marry and stay marry.
AMEN! I definitely agree with you! The pictures were absolutly breath taking. I love the wedding colors. Bishop Jakes you did a WONDERFUL job picking out her dress. She is very blessed to have a father like you. This took me back to when I got married a little over a year ago (June 16). The day went by extremely fast, but the memories last a life time. I wish the new couple nothing but the best. Continue to keep God first in their lives and he will continue to bless them and their marriage.
God bless!

The bible says that a good name is to be desired more than riches. You and your wife have done an excellent job in giving your daughter and her husband a good name. I pray that she will take all the hidden heavenly and earthly treasures of your name with her and be a blessing to her new life with her husband and that he and her will grow their own legacy on the foundations laid by both families.
Dear Bishop Jakes,
I wish you a speedy recovery and I know that God has touch your body and is healing you. May God Bless your daughter and your new son-in-law and let no man came between them and I pray that they have a long and happy life together. May they put God first in their marriage and everything will be alright.
Bishop and First Lady,
What an extraordinary moment! These pictures are lovely. Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs.Robert Henson, their wedding party looks great! Thanks so much for sharing the photos. We thank God you are our Pastor.
You’re the Best

Just soooo beautiful! The bride, the groom, the union…so thankful this was in my inbox this afternoon! Two weeks ago my husband downloaded a few itunes and included Butterfly Kisses…the song he has already declared will be played for father/daughter dance at our daughter’s weddings someday. He just sat there at the computer listening to the song again and again…I loved just sitting nearby watching! Congratulations! God Bless!
What a joyous occasion that was for you Bishop and Lady Serita on the celebration of the marriage of your beautiful daughter as she enters a God-planned covenant with her husband. Congratulations and may God continue to add blessing upon blessing upon you and your beautiful family.
The Lord add favour in your ministry as you continue this pathway in God’ Kingdom.

What a beautiful and awesome day for the Jakes and Henson families. Knowing that God is in the midst dreams of a beautiful future is sure to come. It is a welcoming emotion to find that both you and the groom share that love for the beautiful bride. My best wishes to all and Congratulations to the bride and groom , but also to you the parents. May God continue to bless you and yours.
I’m trying to write through tears. What a beautiful tribute from a father to his daughter! How beautiful Sarah was, and both you and Lady Serita looked wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing Sarah’s special day with us. I wish them every blessing imaginable. I also thank you for sharing your feelings, hoping our own fathers, who didn’t quite express their feelings so eloquently, felt the same way the day they walked us down the aisle!
Great story Bishop! No need to excuse those tears. They were just a wonderful display of your “He-Motions”
I anticapate my own one day as I have three beautiful daughters, each a year a part, to one day walk down the aisle.
It is good to hear the testimony of someone who took the stand with grace to help a child learn to weed through the possibilities and patiently wait for the “Mister Right” of God’s choosing. I pray I can be as discerning.
They are very handsome twosome. God’s best to them and you and your wife.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful touching experience with us tears were streaming down my face when i was reading it I wish the Henson’s family a happy life together and God richly bless them.
Bishop Jakes it was touching reading about your experince and how Your family felt during the weeding. it was marvelous and i Pray the almighty God to see the newly weds through their life.
God bless.
Bishop This is soooooooo beautiful and awesome. This is the dream of many lady’s to have a man of legacy commend another man to give their daughter another name. I would really love to see the reception photos this was soooooooooooo great, beyond words. I will pray for your daughter she needs Gods presence when you are not there. He who sticks closer than a father.
- Grace Kenya -
aww Bishop….I don’t believe that any Father wants to put their daughter into another man’s hands, to love, protect, and to nurture….but no matter what she does or where she goes , no one can ever take a Daddy’s place….I Bless you all and pray that Gods purpose will be fulfilled all the days of your lives in Jesus name……Amen! (they both looked beautiful
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!……………..
with Love Liz
Wonderful. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Dear Bishop and First Lady Serita:
I would like to congratulate the two of you for the success in raising a beautiful daughter, successfully throwing a lovely wedding and so graciously sharing it all with us. I have two daughters also and I worry about the success they will have in finding a wonderful, caring, hard-working Christian man to compliment their lives and their futures. I also have an 18 year old son who didn’t have a strong male presence in his life and I want him to be a good man as well as a good mate to someone.
I appreciate that you shared your fatherly struggles with regards to daughters and boyfriends. We out here in the regular walks in life think that folks that have attained what you have are carefree and don’t have the same issues as us. I have always felt more comfortable learning from and taking guidance from someone who has “been through some thangs”. Thank you for having the God given courage to share with us.
I am divorced but I still believe in love and fidelity and I pray that both of these continually come to your daughter and son-in-law. I believe that they are blessed to have your wife and yourself as an example. God Bless.
Beautiful! Beautiful! Beautiful! Mrs. Sarah Henson you look so pretty. I’m sure if I had present tears would have rolled down my cheeks without my permission. Mr. Henson your husband kinda favors your dad Pastor Jakes. This is sweet. So Sweet! God Bless You!
Congratulations to Mr, and Mrs, Henson. What God has brougth together let no man separate. When a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing. GOD BLESS YOU BISHOP AND THE FIRST LADY.

My Prayer: What God has joined together, let no man put asunder! May our God of love bless Sarah and Robert with as much beauty in their long lives together as they exude in these awesome pictures, for they are indeed a beautiful couple.
What a beautiful beginning, to their new life. With GOD, ALL things are possible, even to live - in this life - until forever after. We catch Pastor Jakes, on the TV, now and then, and are always INSPIRED!
We have a story for you, too. Our son, after about a dozen years of cocaine addiction, jail and just plain degradation, and released from rehab into a SoberLiving recovery program, down in Florida, began a new life, released from addiction and its cravings, and hungry for more of God. Oh, so much happened and God was always there, for him. One day, at church, a lady began to talk to him, but he wasn’t interested - not his type, you know? On New Year’s Eve, of 2005, they met, “officially.” He still wasn’t interested. It all started with not even a date, but the sharing of a home movie, as strictly “friends”! But, when he called us and told us that they had spent an hour talking, before starting the movie, our hearts wondered. They became friends. God knows just what we need, ‘eh? In Spring of 2007, they became an official “dating only each other” couple. In September of 2007, they expressed their love for each other. In November, they became engaged. And, on January 19, 2008, they became man and wife, in a beautiful and meaningful ceremony, truly with God’s Presence and Blessing. Oh, the Wisdom, Mercy and Love of the God of Restoration! Now, we are still praying and waiting for a “Boaz,” for our daughter! Thank you, for this chance to share our story!
Thanks Bishop for sharing the precious pictures of Sarah’s wedding, she is a Beautiful Woman. We really enjoyed the picture of you, Sarah and First Lady. May GOD Bless her marriage and continue to Bless you and your family.
The Hickey Family
I hope Mr. and Mrs. Henson’s love is eternal. Blessings to them both.

What a day and what happiness it appeared to be. May God bless you and your family. Bishop it looks as though the pain was showing sligthly through the joy. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Again May your daughter and her husband share and have all the blessings and success that two people can have.
Thanks Bishop for sharing the precious pictures of Sarah’s wedding, she is a Beautiful Woman. We really enjoyed the picture of you, Sarah and First Lady. May GOD Bless their marriage and continue to Bless you and your family.
The Hickey Family
Bishop,
Thanks so much for sharing those beautiful pictures. I wish blessing upon you and your family. I wish I could’ve been there.
Oh what a beautiful and blessed event. How well do I remember my very own children’s weddings and I can feel some of your excitement and joy. I will do as you have requested and pray fervently for Sarah and her husband. God is truly good and it is such a wonderful thing for us to have the ability to witness his Grace in our children as He allows them to experience the joy of uniting as one. I must say that you and your lovely wife were stunning as I feel you both always are. It has been a pleasure to admire you and your family through the years and I know that God has not finished the work He started in the Jakes family. Continue to be blessed in Christ Jesus.
DEARBISHOP AND SERITA JAKES I WAS BLESSED TO RECEIVE THIS E_MAIL FROM NIECE WHICH I REALLY ENJOY SEEING SARAH AGAIN SHE WAS A BABY WHEN MY SISTER TOOK ME UP ON VANDALIA HIM TO ;YOUR MOMS HOUSE AND WE SAW PICTURES, MARY WALLACE IS MY SISTER AND I AM SURE SHE WILL ENJOY SEEING THIS PICTURES SHE DOES NOT HAVE A COMPUPTER, BUT I AM GOING TO CHARLESTON, FOR STATE HIGH REUNION, I WILL PRINT THEM OUT AND TAKE THEM WITH ME., THE 4TH OF JULY WEEKEND. SARAH IS SO BEAUTIFUL WE HOPE SHE HAS A LONG AND HAPPY MARRIAGE AND GOD BLESS YOU AND SERITA AN THE , SAY HE WHOLE FAMILY. sAY HELLO TO JACKIE AND YOUR BROTHER. LOVE JOHN AND STELLA BEASLEY. FRIENDS OF HENRIETTA DICKERSON,
Bishop Jakes. Last June my youngest daughter was married to a fine young man in Florida. I was priviledged to wlk her down the isle as you did your daughter. My older Brother Rev. Doctor Don H. Jackson officiated the cerimony, He was both my daughter and my first choice as he is not just my brother but a spiritual leader in my life and hers. I remember the tears and the times I slowed Michelle down going down the isle. I can only say thank you GOD she is my youngest child and the last to Marry. God has been really good to me this year, I suffered a massive heart attack in Feb. of this year my heart stoped for 8 minutes, but GOD, the GOD that I serve had other things for me to do, so my heart started again on its own, and I still have my memory both long term and short, so I remember well my daughters wedding 1 year ago. I know that GOD is not through with me yet, and I hope to be able to make another Manpower meeting perhaps next year. I still have a copy on tape deck of the sermon on blind Bartimaeus which I have almost worn out, but still get something new everytime I listen to it. Since I am not working until GOD tells me to, finances have been tight, but GOD will make a way, he always does. I will continue to pray for you and your family, that GOD will continue to have his way in your life as well as your family. I am now living in
Goodletsville TN. with my youngest son and his family attending Cornerstone church.
Dear Bishop and Firstlady,
For many of us who have followed and looked up to you from afar; we are so happpy that Jehovah rewards labor of love. The bride and groom look so heavenly. Congratulations Sir. We Thank the Lord for what has been accomplished in your daughter and know it will go from glory to glory.

Hello Bishop & First Lady! All I can say is, “Wow!!!” I cried when I read your last blog as you spoke about “Daddy’s Little Girl.” Bishop, I so admire your candor, honesty, transparency, love and respect for your family. I have learned so, so much from observing and listening to you and First lady. You can’t help but to see the genuine love, respect, and eyes you have only for each other. Now to see the same exact thing in Sarah and her soulmate, is ………..
One couldnt’ help but to cry as the love is so, so visible. I know 3-D is supposed to be like being there, but the presence of Almighty God is what made this experince so, so real for me! It was as if I was there experiencing it all with you. You have set the godly example for Sarah & you have the peace of God that she has chosen the right man, so now you must simpy trust the Lord to continually nurture & develop all that you & First Lady have placed inside of Sarah & her husband.
Continue to stay in the Lord’s perfect peace and rest so the Word of God continually works for the Henderson family. We both know God alone is able to sustain and keep any who look to Him and put their complete trust and confidence in Him. Nothing is too hard for Him and He is always perfecting the things that concern us. He knows the purposes and plans He has for us to give a hope and a future. He will do no less now because He has no respect of persons. What He has done for you & First Lady is already done for Sarah.
Wow! She’s beautiful and beaming! My daughter is only 11 now, I have a ways to go before I have to think about who she will have waiting teary-eyed at the alter. As a single mom, I want to savor the few moments I have left to enjoy her being a little girl. Your daughter and son-in-law will have a wonderful life together. If the tears in his eyes are any indication, Robert will not let any harm come to her. I wish them all the best. Congratulations Bishop on the growth in your family!
hi bishop Jakes, i justed wanted to say to you its ok to drop them tears cause its all joy for your daughter, i enjoyed reading your bloge about your daughter wedding i was all smiles for you all especially seeing the pictures, and they where very nice, also i want to say my prayers are with you and your wife and family and may god bless you,and you take care of your self as you heal.
YOU DID IT BISHOP!! I am so elated for you and your wife and the newlyweds. I am blessed to be able to witness, at least through pictures, such a personal and precious time in your life and in the lives of your family. Thank you for blessing us with this great example of what newlyweds should be, no second guessing, no discontentment, just love and an overwelming presence of the Holy Spirit. AMEN!! I am deeply moved and am also re-assured by your words on your daughters’ choices in companions. Now I have hope that even though there have been choices that weren’t the best, it is still possible to meet the right one, if we wait on God!! God bless you bishop and don’t worry, I will definately be praying for you and your daughter and son-in-law. Trust God. You have done a great job immitating your Heavenly Father!
The wedding pitchers were great, love to all the family, and we will pray for the newlyweds.
You are a blessing to us, love you much.
Bishop and Mrs. Jakes,
Thanks so much for inviting me into your families most special and blessed event. I do understand your happy tears. i too shed tears each time I think of my children. These are tears of love and joy for our children and their happiness. I wish them Gods richest blessings in their union and future days to come. I am sure with your blessing upon their union They have more than a fighting chance. God is always in the midst of it all. God bless you and Serita and the rest of the family.
I almost cried and I wasn’t even there. Sarah, looked absolutely elegant, and Robert is the groom every mother wants for their son-in-law….his tears made me tear-up. Congratulations to the happy couple, and don’t worry daddy, she will ALWAYS be YOUR little girl. I know my daddy was the first and last person to ever own my heart. I loved my husband until death did part us, so I know that little girls always love the first real man in thier lives. So don’t think you got rid of her so soon, she will be back!!!!! (smile)
Blessings to you all and you are in our prayers daily.

and occasionally an evening time slot was available….. I THANK GOD for you and for your yeilding your life to him. Truly his anionting is so visible in your life.
Much Love to you and the entire family and BEST wishes to the NEWLY Weds..

Surely, God almighty will guide, protect, provide and empower the couple in their years together as husband & wife. To other people I refer to you as “Uncle Jakes” (it’s like you know me) because of the impact your speaking the word has had on my life. Now, in your reading I say, ” thank you Uncle Jakes for being a child of the King without shame always giving the Lord a SHOUT.” Peace & Blessings to all.
I understand you being taken away. Sarah is truly a beautiful princess, and Robert a handsome groom. Congratulations to you and your family on such a memorable and blessed occassion. May God’s love continue to nourish and mature such a beautiful sacred union. God bless your family!

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Thank you Bishop and First Lady for sharing with us the most beautiful pictures of an unforgettable moment. To God be the glory for the great things He has done.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful day with us. The lacing of the dress recalled the memories of my daughter’s wedding this past August. It was so wonderful to see the love that he has for her, and she for him. I also liked to see the pictures of you and Serita kissing. Just to see the love that is shared between the spouses was a blessing. Thank you so very much.
I felt the whispers
Unspoken though they were
I saw the tears
Droplets, sparkling bright
Yes
It felt so right and true
Aha!
It was love and so much more
For when God’s presence does abound
The beautiful ones will strike a chord
Congratulations to the blessed union of the Jakes and Henson
Love from Chalya
My husband and I have been married for 30 years and still happy. I hope you and your husband will be as lucky as we have been. Don’t get me wrong, you will go through your bad times and you will have fights; however, it is how you fight that makes a big different. So always remember how happy you are now, which will get you through the hard times. And always remember, the same thing you did to get each other, is the same thing you have to do to keep each other. May God always be with you. Keep Love in your heart.
Bishop Jakes, congratulations to you and your daughter. You all looked so beautiful especially Sarah . You and Serita have done a wonderful job in raising your children and you have been a lifeline to the Lord for me throughout the years. All of the messages that I’ve heard you deliver have inspired me to hold on when I wanted to give up, and to understand why we feel and do what we do as humans. I pray for your complete recovery from back surgery, and look forward to hearing what the Lord has spoken to you while your body is healing.Your new son-in-law seems like very special young man, and it is refreshing to see the unconditional love that he has for Sarah. God bless and keep you all. Thank you for feeding our spirits with the truth of God’sWord. You have been the father that I missed having( mine passed away when I was 11 years old). You and Serita keep up the good work, I love you all, Robin

Bishop,
Thank you for taking time to hare the words of wisdom & photos from your daughter’s beautiful wedding. She was a beautiful bride. So often, we do not hear how the fathers feel when giving their daughters away but you have captured the essence of that day including all the emotions that you felt on that day. What a beautiful testament to the closing of one chapter in her life and yet the opening of another. I pray that God richly blesses & keeps them.
I just saw the moment on Entertainment Tonight! May God bless this union and keep His arms around them forever! During these turbulent times, I pray that they will stay focused in the Lord and for them to be joyful in their happiness. May they remember to always consult with Him on every aspect of their lives. And so we all come to agreement and so it shall be done!
Beautiful wedding, may God bless your daughter and her husband. The word of God says,”He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.”I beleive it, the way I see Jesus through you, is the way I see your gorgeous and angel daughter through you Bishop. May the Lord keep all of you.
God Bless you Bishop Jakes and First Lady Serita,It brought tears to my eyes seeing you with your daughter and her groom weeping as he kept his eyes on the prize your beautiful daughter as you walked her down the aisle. Congratulations to Robert and Sarah. I do celebrate with the Jakes and Henson’s family. I wish Robert and Sarah God’s divine grace as they journey together in the union of love. May their passion decorate the sky and leave a trail for this generation to aspire to, may they fuel their love enough to take them to places where passion knows no boundaries. May they create water marks of ecstatic eruption that will paint pictures splashed on the canvas of time!
Bishop & First Lady, especially the new Mr. & Mrs. Henson,
CONGRATULATIONS!!
I am overjoyed to learn that your daughter has taken the step to move into one of the most wonderful commitments of her life. I understand that as parents that we want the best for our children, but I am also a firm believer that GOD wants something more far beyond what we could ever want. He wants your daughter and her husband for his glory!!!! Sometimes it is rare to find two young lovers wanting to make that step, but it is not impossible though. All I can say is that we need to pray for them and ask GOD to keep moving on their behalf, to encourage and uplift when needed to, most of all we need to start setting better examples as married couples to give our younger generation something to look up to.
Thank you for sharing such a precious moment with us. I pray that God will richly bless the newly wed and may their love be everlasting because love is beautiful when you find the right mate. May God bless them always!!
Bishop & First Lady
Thank you first of all for sharing such a private and blessed occasion with us. I’m extremely excited and all through I’m not the only one, I wrote in days before the wedding and expressed that it’s been my experience that everyone always has there eyes on the bride when she comes down the aisle. If you really want to capture the moment keep your eyes on the groom during that time his eyes, heart and soul will tell it all. I was tickled pink, purple and blue to hear you make those comments about your new son-in-law and how overjoyed, excited and bless he looked while his new bride (albeit in a fast paced walk/run) made her way to him.
With such an out pour of love, family, friends & God present that day how could it be anything but BLESSED and BUILT TO LAST!!!!
Cassey
Bishop & First Lady Jakes,
Truly I thank you for sharing such a private family moment. Sarah looks so beautiful. I remember that day on 9/11/93 when I walked down the aisle, knowing my life would change forever. I’m glad that she finally met the man of her dreams. I did take a moment to pray for them as I well know that the wedding day is just the beginning of two lives becoming ONE spiritually first, and then in the natural (flesh) second. I heard you speak of both of you missing your parents being there, but now you are the wisdom, advice, mentor that they will look to. Again, Congratulations and best wishes to Mr. & Mrs. Robert Henson. I wasn’t blessed to have any daughters so I will never really know what that feels like. I wish you all the best
Thank you Bishop Jakes for sharing this precious and very special event with those that love you and your family!

Bishop and Serita Jakes,

I feel as if I have watched your children grow . . . even though I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I am a member of Bishop’s Circle andhave been following your ministry for more than 10 years, and continue to keep in touch through email and financial support. Thank you for sharing this wonderful occasion with us (the world) and allowing us to see your ‘tender side’. You and Serita are beautiful in spirit. Thank you for being an example for so many of us.

Bishop,
I am soooo happy for your family on this lovely occasion!!!! Your daughter looks so beautiful on her special day, and her lovely dress shows that you have good taste!!!! As a member of the Potter’s House for nearly nine years, my husband and I have learned so much from you and First Lady. As I often hear you say that you have been in the ministry 32 years, as a 32 y/o woman whose father died when she was a young child, I am so thankful for the wisdom you impart to us all. We have greatly prospered in our Lord since joining the church. May the Lord bring continued healing, peace and blessings to you and your wonderful family…….
To Bishop Jakes and Lady Serita,
Congrats go out to Mr. & Mrs. Robert Henson, and may God continue to bless that reunion abundantly and all the days of their lives until death do them part. The wedding pictures from the blog were awesome, and I am so happy for them they make a great couple and look very good together. As long as they both keep their hands in God’s hand they will be just fine. And to you Bishop Jakes now that the wedding is over, be still and get your rest so that you can finish your healing properly. Just know that I will keep you and your family in my prayers. You are an inspiration to me along with your wife, and I love you both. Stay safe and be happy.

Hello Bishop Jakes,
I was so overjoyed to see your family’s special moment, and thanking God for you sharing with me and the rest of the world. I know that God has and will continue to bless this union. I thank God some of those blessings are due to you being a fathful father, leader, teacher, and husband. Because you have favor with our father in heaven, they too shall have it. You know that the blessings run from the head down. May God continue to bless you and all that concerns you. Sarah was so beautiful not to mention your wife. I too have a daughter, and I pray that he will send a true god fearing man when it is their time. I love you and your family. I wish them well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH, MY GOD!! SHE LOOK SO BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS WITH US. I AM 54 YEARS OLD AND NEVER BEEN MARRIED. BUT I STILL BELIEVE GOD! AND I TOO WANT HIS BEST AS HE CONTINUES TO PREPARE ME FOR MY BEST. I’LL BE IN PRAYER THAT GOD CONTINUES THAT GOD’S BLESSING WILL REMAIN UPON THEM.
Beautiful wedding!!! Be blessed!!!
THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU ALL
Dearst Bishop Jakes, To you, your precious wife, the newlyweds, and your entire family ~ Congradulations!!! I pray for you all Everyday, but I prayed a very special prayer for your precious family on Saturday. Bishop you are truly a man like Soloman, in that, you have a deep wisdom that comes only from God Himself, and because of the Godly wisdom and anointing on your life you are respected and esteemed very highly! If I may take the liberty, I’d like to share a little testimony with you. After 21years of marriage, I faced divorce. Even so, I was so very blessed because I knew the Lord was with me through it all. As I continued to raise my children as a single mother, I was one day faced with the fact that my oldest daughter was preparing to move out on her own. She was 18, and I was devastated! That evening, while my children were sleeping, I cried, prayed, cried, and prayed some more. Finally, it was as if God had had enough of my crying. The Holy Spirit spoke so powerfully clear to me, and what He said blessed my soul and brought me great peace. He said, “You have given and imparted into your children all that you know of me. You’ve kept them in church, hearing my Word, teaching them and you’ve prayed for them and with them. You’ve given them all that I’ve given you, so now just trust what you’ve imparted into them”. Bishop, those words from the Holy Spirit blew my mind. I realized that He was absolutely correct. I had given my children the Word of God….now it was time for me to relax and allow the seeds that I had planted into my offspring to take root and grow. In doing so, I had to relinquish my stand and give her some space to grow. I’m still mom and there is no question about that. However, my little one was ready to take her wings and fly. Bishop, I offer you those wonderful words that the Holy Spirit comforted me with. You’ve planted deeply into your children, and those wonderful seeds are ready for growth that will take them into another dimension of this life! Be blessed, you and Lady Serita. You’ve done an awesome job in raising your children. We will always be mom and dad ~ forever! We will love them and they will love us, and we will now grow together as adults ~ we and our children! We will cultivate new relationships together. Well now Bishop, I know that I’m not telling you anything that you probably don’t already know. It just feels wonderful to be able to share with you! :o) BTW, that was 12 years ago that the Holy Spirit spoke those words to me. Since then, I’m very proud to say that my children have all moved on in life and have done very well for themselves ~ always acknowledging our Heavenly Father as the Head of their lives. My baby, my son, has been married almost 2 years now. As I look upon my children, I turn my face to the sky and say, “Lord, we did an AWESOME job with these kidsâ€! And I smile… Love you Bishop and Lady Serita. Be blessed!
Rose Marie

Thank you for sharing your fatherly feelings with us. We are still in the process of bringing up

I could feel the love you have for your daughter. How Great Is Our God
Love you all.
Jody
This is really touching. I always cry at weddings, and reading the Bishop’s account makes my eyes water at the thought. My prayers are with the blissful bride and groom.
Peace
I wasn’t even there but the photos here made me tear up, just like the groom!:) CONGRATULATIONS to all of you especially your lovely daughter, Sarah and new son, Robert. Please pass on the wonderful advice my husband and I received in marriage counseling. Our pastor drew a triangle with my husband at the base of one leg and me at the other; God, of course, was at the top point. He demonstrated and stated “as you grow closer to God, you grow closer to each other.” A very simple message, yet very profound. We have not forgotten this advice and we have shared a wonderful and peaceful marriage throughout our 20 years together. Our prayer is that God will immensely bless Sarah and Robert’s union. Love to all of you.
BEAUTIFUL!! YOUR DAUGHTER LOOKS LIKE A QUEEN. HER DRESS IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHERE YOU GOT IT FROM. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING HIGH AND LOW FOR THE PERFECT GOWN AND THIS IS IT..VERY CLASSY, ELEGANT, TASTEFUL AND CLASSIC.
THEY ARE SHOWING EXCERPTS OF YOUR POWERFUL SERMON, HE-MOTIONS ON TBN..I AM GETTING MY FIANCE’ A COPY AND SENDING IT TO HIM AT SCHOOL. HE IS STUDYING TO BECOME A PASTOR. THIS SERIES READ–MY–MAIL! I USED TO BE THE GIRL GIVING OUT THE BAD ADVICE WHILE CURLING MY GIRLFRIENDS’ HAIR..JUST BECAUSE MY HEART WAS SHATTERED DIDN’T GIVE ME THE RIGHT TO INVITE OTHERS TO MY PITY PARTY AND BAKE CUPCAKES FOR IT…I COULD WRITE A BOOK ON HERE, BUT TO GET BACK TO THE SUBJECT…
IT IS BEAUTIFUL TO SEE THE BLESSINGS AND REWARDS OF YOUR FAITH AND DEDICATION TO OUR LORD BY LOOKING AT THE JOY, EXPECTATION, ELATION AND LIGHT IN YOU, YOUR DAUGHTER, HER HUSBAND AND SERITA’S FACE AS YOU ALL CELEBRATE AND REJOICE IN THIS SPECIAL DAY. GOD BLESS YOU ALL, AND MAY YOU ALWAYS BE HIGHLY FAVORED.
Congratulations to the newlyweds! It seemed like only yesterday that my husband and I got married. We just celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary this month. I remember my elders passing on their wisdom to us before and on our wedding day. My great aunt reminded me to put God first in all that we do, and that He would crown our efforts. Then, my favorite uncle standing up to toast us, and also imparting his wisdom by urging us to keep our love for each other in mind at all times, especially when we went through the difficult parts of life. My great aunt and great uncle have been married for 58 years, and my favorite uncle was married to my favorite aunt for 45 years before he passed away….God bless the newlyweds!
Bishop Jakes,
My heart was so blessed while reading about your daughter’s wedding. The couple looked lovely. Sarah was radiant and beautiful. God bless Mr. and Mrs.Henson for years to come. I’m also glad you are feeling better. Mrs. Jakes looked beautiful as well. Job well done. Thank you for sharing this lovely event with us.
Wow! What a beautiful gift. A gift of love and a gift ofr reassurance in love. It was wonderful to see Sarah as a glowing bride beside a man - her husband equally as aglow - not to mention the proud father and mother. Thanks for sharing such an intimate moment with us - thanks for being so real with the rest of us - thanks for including us on the guest list - it was as if I were actually there as you shared those precious moments. Most of all thanks for reestablishing my faith in marriage and God’s gift of love between a man and a woman. All the best of blessings to Sarah and Robert and to you and your wife as you continue to prayerfully support them.
Thank you Bishop and Lady Jakes for sharing such a precious time with the body of Christ. I was very excited to know that your daughter had wed!! To hear that you as a Father saw in your daughter’s husband spirit what you as her father felt was awesome. I will never forget that. What a beautiful couple!! I know that you and Lady Jakes have instilled volumes of the word and prayer. I know that God’s word will not return without fruit in the lives of Mr and Ms Henson!! May God continue to richly bless them, you and your entire family. May every divine Dream come true!!
Bishop, thanks for sharing such a private and intimate affair with the world. May God continue to bless you and your ministry. You have truely changed the world!
Hi there Bishop Jakes!
This is truly something all women in the world need to hear, that a dad could be willing to only place his daughter’s hand in a trustworthy man’s hand. My dad’s the same…he only wants the best for his 3 girls. Praise God!
I could not help but release the tears in my eyes. It was truly touching.
God bless you and your family, and I wish your ravishing daughter and her husband a very happy God-ordained marriage!
Beautiful and amazing what God can do, especially when God speaks to me letting me know no matter what I’ve been through in life, from having an absent father to having generations of failed relationships in my family, God’s got my back. Excuse me if I’m being a little too personal, but through this beautiful story that you shared and your perspective about it, it allowed me to realize that I am not forgotten. Thank you Jesus!!!
Thats was beatiful bishop God will surely keep them together.Your a blessing to me at my young age of 22 years.Love you so much am in kenya God bless.
Bishop and Serita,Thank you for sharing such private and personal thoughts and moments with us.We, the various people who watch your teachings on television(all the way from Uganda) appreciate that even after we become a part of your life, read about you, catch snippets of news about you…generally taking and taking, you still shared this with us.I will remember to pray for those beautiful people and for you.Keep the faith.
Dear Bishop, Thank you for sharing. It is a blessing and an encouragement as a mother of a 16 yo daughter , to have such examples and hope. Also, I pray you will have a speedy and successful recovery from surgery. May God continue to bless you and all your loved ones, as you continue to be a blessing to sooooo many. If I never meet you here, I’ll see you in Glory !!
Thank you so much for sharing your daughters wedding with us. I am a single 22 year old mother who has been praying that my daughters father would only just come back even if its not in my life but to be a part of hers.
I wonder at times about the man who will teach my daughter to ride her bicycle, take her to school go to her school plays, protect her from harm, teach her values that she can’t hold dear. Be there when she graduates from university and walk her down the isle one day. As sad as this might be I can’t imagen any other man out there but her own father to share those experiences. I know if I create a room for someone else who is capable of giving her all these and more, she might still wake up and want to know who her real father is.
I see how she looks atmy boyfriend and how she loves and admires him as a father and how he loves her in return and what a loving fatherly role he plays towards her and I can’t help but really thank God for having been the father who will take her through all these stages with my guindance and God I know she can grow up to be a great young woman.I just wish her father would show some interest in her.
Ok that was awesome!am inspired!i shed tears may God be with them see them through the good and bad times and give them victory. You and your wife are blessed and so are your children.i look forward to my wedding infact am preparing myself financally, spiritually and emotionally.God willing it will be next year.am always ministred to whenever you preach and i’l definately travel to SA for the mega fest.am from Zambia, Africa.Love you.

i am happy for you bishop, as a man who has devoted his time to build people’s lives sometimes we forget about ourselves.but am glad that your dreams and desires are being meet.i would love to congratulate the newly weds, i know they will make it.
Thumbs up Bishop! It is the pride of every father to hand over his daughter on her wedding day especialy to a man with so much love for his bride.i can imagine the feelings of the bride.its the best day ever wished for by any young lady;and as i see the bride i feel the urge to pray even more for my own day to be that beautiful and full of so much love;I will be praying for the couple fervently knowing that its not very easy for us youths like it was for you before because we seem to face our own challenges in our own childish ways.we just seem to refuse to mature.i know that as i devote my time praying for this beautiful couple and other couples who are in love, and even for those with challenges, the bible says if u water,u shall be watered;i know that God will water my own life with a man who loves me and loves God better and fears him,and a marriage full of love forever.God loves you Bishop and is rewarding you for your services in His kingdom.Just sit back and RELAX.I know that word is a bit difficult for parents. But leave your kid and her husband and their marriage in the hands of God and God will fill that marriage with the love of Christ. He can do it better than you,so just sit back, relax and enjoy yourself with your beautiful wife. All you have to do together is to thank God for the beautiful work He is going to do in their marriage and in the life of their kids.He doesnt start somehting to leave it have way.TRUST HIM.LOTS OF Love for Mr and Mrs Robert Henson.GOD BLESSU
Dear Man of Honour
Your daughter is beautiful, they make a wonderful couple with her husband. I was soo moved by their picture and her husband’s picture where he’s crying. They are already blessed. I am confident that All things will work together for their good because of your love for the Lord!! I know all of your children are proud to have you as their Mom and Dad your creativity and eloquence shows in everything you do for them especially on this special day.
Sara showed so much love for you in the ET interview. The confidence she had to allow you to choose her dress was so reflective of God’s love toward us knowing whats best and fitting for us in any circumstance. I commend you for protraying the love of the Father for the whole world to see just how if you being an earthly father knows whats best for your little girl then our Father in Heaven knows even greater.
I thank God that you are my Spiritual Father and Mother whom I can glean and learn from.

MARVELOUS, SIMPLY MARVELOUS.

Blessings and Congradulations to Mr. and Mrs. Henson!! Bishop, the pictures are beautiful as well as the Spirit filled eyes of the young couple. I have been paying special attention to prayer for your recovery. My son will soon be facing a critical lumbar neuro surgery. I ask for your prayers in healing for him, thus that he will not loose the usage of his legs. Isn’t it wonderful how God has allowed parents to watch every phase of our children’s lives grow? Sarah has now begun another important phase of her life, as a woman. She is Blessed to have parents that continue to pray, support and love unconditionally.
We thank God almighty, that is what a wonderful wedding is all about when your children come together to share the wonderful matrimony. What a beautiful wedding,May God bless the couple.

I want to say thank you for sharing and eventful moment in your life. You have been my soldier since the evening of 911. Before that day I had no idea who you were working in the airline industry and living very close to DFW I went home that evening and was alone in my apartment and watched the TV and wept. Finally growing weary from watching I flipped threw the channels and landed on TBN and there you were offering your wisdom. That night my life changed as you said America we have to fight this war on our knees. I am a better person today from listening to you preach the word. I have the newly weds in my prayers.
Bishop Congratulations!!!! and Thank You for sharing such a special day with us , this make us feel like we are part of your family your daughter and son-in-law looked beauiful May God Bless them and your family.
Thanks my friend for sending the updates on the wedding, it shows that you are one happy father and it seems that you have a very good and caring son-a-law. May GOD continue to bless the marriage and all of your family and friends that have shown their love. When you have taken care of everybody else please add a prayer for me, a lot is going on and a blessing is needed, once again thanks and GOD Bless.
As a photographer, for me a wedding is a wedding is a wedding. What makes THIS wedding special is because the bride is the offspring of two spiritual giants. I pray for not only will Sarah and Robert but for ALL the newly weds. I have been married 4 times and I am going to do it until I get it right.
Dear Bishop,
Your daughter was beautiful on her day! I pray that God will Bless the marriage forever. God Bless you and First Lady, who was beautiful as well. You are an inspiration and light to the Body of Christ!
Sincerely,
Rev. Sherelle Hawkins
What a special day .. and what a lovely family you have, Bishop Jakes. Thanks for sharing your joy with all of us. I’m so happy for you and your beautiful daughter and her new husband. You’re right when you say that it isn’t easy to raise your children in “today’s times of MTV, BET, MySpace and every other space they get into.” It seems that we parents have to compete with modern media for quality time with our children. But, oh, the competition’s worth the work, isn’t it, when you see the product of a lifelong relationship with your child come to the glorious reality of a day like the one you’re sharing with us? It goes to show that the example of a mother or father’s abiding love and faith can prepare our sweet babies for a life that’s filled with even more love and faith .. despite the chaotic diversions of our modern culture. Congratulations and, as always, thanks for your heartful inspiration!
First, I would like to say, “Congratulations to the bride and groom!” You make a beautiful couple!
Secondly, “Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Jakes, you have been blessed with a new son!” Just to see the picture of the groom in tears was very touching and spiritual. I do not know any of you personally, but my spirit tells me that you all are godly people. I am pretty sure that the bride and groom already knows that if they put God first, He’ll make everything alright! Iknow the Man, and I have tried Him!
May God bless you and your entire family!
Bishop and Mrs Jakes,
Congratulations to you both and to you beautiful daughter Sarah. I know she is already a princess because of the lovely name and I pray God will bless her and her husband as they embark on this wonderful journey.
I cannot remember ever seeing a groom cry but boy oh boy those tears are big and sure looks like the look of love.
Gob bless.
Bishop,
Absolutely Beautiful! As you captivated me with every word, as your heart spilled over it filled my eyes with tears and encouraged me to hold for that special day I’ll share with my daughter! I celebrate you and MAY GOD BLESS THIS HAPPY COUPLE!
Blessings,
Cathy
Congratulations Bishop. We give God all the praise but also thank you and Lady Serita for raising such a beautiful daughter. I continue to pray for your good health. God bless you and the newly wed couple.
Deborah
Bishop First Lady,
Thank you for sharing the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen. I pray that your daughter and new son-in-law all the best that GOD can give them.
Thank you, Bishop Jakes, for sharing this joyous occasion with us. I appreciate your willingness to share your wisdom and express your feelings surrounding this transition in your life and your family’s life. It’s awesome to see God do great things! And this seems to have been one of the greatest for you all! Best wishes and God’s best to your blossoming family!
Congrats Sara & Robert - follow those who through faith & patience have inherited the promise. You have wonderful examples in your parents! You guys looked great.
Congrats! to the lovely couple. I can’t believe how much she has grown! I was a member of your church in WV and remember the girls when they were 7 and 8 and the boys were 16! How time flies! Thank you so much for sharing such a sacred day with us! I cried as I read your words and espically when I saw the picture of her husband crying as she was walking down the isle. I read a comment from a pastor who said that the wisdom you and your lovely wife have given Sarah, and that is so very true. She will remember the nuggets and wisdom on the days she thinks she can’t make it thru. I know I do! God Bless and I will keep them, your new in-laws and entire family in prayer!
Thank you Bishop and Mrs. Jakes for sharing your daughter’s wedding with us. How beautiful!! What a treasure it must have been for her to have you walk down the aisle…there is nothing like a father’s support and approval, especially when it is approved by THE FATHER. Marriage today takes God to weather the storms and ground you during the peak times. I appreciate the pictures of the men not being afraid to share their emotions. Our children need to know that it is okay, especially our boys,so please, no apologies are necessary. We love you and your family and will pray for the newlyweds as well. God bless you!
May God continue to embrace them in the safety of his arms, and may the love they share today remain forever after. God bless them both as well as continued blessings to you and your lovely wife.
Bishop, thank you for sharing you daughter’s photo / wedding . May that union as well as your family remain blessed. As I looked at the pictures I could see the pride you had in watching your baby grown up and become a women right before you. I could tell you were saying in your mind thank you God. I can say this seeing the pride you had and knowing your joy, can on make me wish and pray , that your daughter continue to make you happy and proud , and as she bring you new grand children. I can only see the joy you will have , and the words of OH My God , as your new little ones wear you out and bring back all the joy and reminders of your daughters childhood. Yes it’s coming so I am preparing you early.. May God continue to bless and bring you joy. Man to Man .. much love
She is absolutely beautiful. I know she has been prepared for this day both in the spirit and in the natural.
Dear Bishop;
You have become my father for 8 years now, and i am bursting with joy, at seeing such wonderful delight of a true heart of love. Congratulations on become a father to yet another son.
Bishop,
I must tell you, I literally was in tears reading the blog. It is so very rare for a man to be drawn to tears by his bride. Oh My! i am totally happy for Sara, you and your family. I can’t begin to tell you how touched i was reading and looking at all of the beautiful pictures. I only hope and pray that one day, i will find that same true love. It is certainly rare this day and time. May God Bless you and your family Bishop.
Best Wishes
Della Price

Glory!!! to the Lord for the wonderful thing he has done…Congratulations! Can You Stand to Be Blessed????? (Ha…Ha…Ha…)
Thank you for sharing the closes thing to your heart besides Jesus Christ, which is your family.
Just as the tears rolled down the groom’s face, and the joy along with the love that filled his heart and the astmosphere when he saw his Lovely, Beautiful Bride…May we too be reminded of the Joy that the Lord will have for his Bride on that appointed day!
You are Blessed and Highly Favored!
Mrs. Michelle D. Henley
Oh my goodness you have a beautiful daughter! I hope and pray that every day is blessed for them. The pictures say more than words could ever say. The glow of your daughter and son in law is amazing. I believe that with faith and I am sure they have that, they will a great life together. I pray for that. I am so happy to hear that you are recovering as well! Looking forward to seeing you soon at the potters house in Dallas Tx.
Melody
What a wonderful tribute displayed for your georgous dauther by her parents. This is such a blessing and I applaud God, you and Lady Serita for this beautiful moment in the life of your child. I am sure that in her heart she’s saying THANKS MOM AND DAD THIS WAS WORTH WAITING FOR.” The groom - WOW what a display of unashamed love for his bride. Best wishes to the bride and groom and both families.
First I want to offer my blessings to Sarah and Robert. You will experience both sunshine and rain in your journey together which will make your relationship grow. Bishop for your daughter to allow you to pick out her and the bridesmaids dresses show how much she both trust and love you dearly. (those Bridzellas out there needed to see that) Your expression of telling us the events of your daughter’s wedding made me feel I was there. May God continuely Bless you and your ministry.
This bring tears to my eyes and pain to my heart. I am not only proud to hear the thoughts of
father but I will forward these precious thoughts to every father and prospective dads I come in-contact with through out my life. This is just amazing…..May God Bless you and your entire family
Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful memory that has been created in your life. It is not only inspirational to myself, but also many young people who don’t want to give up on the word “LOVE”. It gives hope to our generation to keep our hearts open to rewarding opportunities. Your son in law looks so happy as his tears of joy streamed down his face.He reminded me of Morris Chestnut in The Brothers movie. I personally LOVE that movie. He truly seems like a wonderful man who loves your daughter very very much!!! I wish them both much love, peace, and happiness! And some good luck too. In this challenging world we live in it is difficult staying afloat in relationships.
Thanks for a glimps of this joyous occasion. Every picture captured a piece of the wedding beautifully. I pray long life, health and continued Love for Sara and Robert. God blessed them with two of the best role models in the world.
First Lady job well done!
Oh….by the way Dexter…..Chanel said you look pretty handsome in that Tux.
Thank you for sharing such a personal time for your immediate family with your praise and worship family. This is truly a gift and a blessing to be able to share this moment with your daughter and now your son.
You stated that the only picture that was not taken was with God, well Reverend, I see God in each photo you chose to share. Through the of tears of joy, smiles of happiness and hugs of support.
May God continue to bless you and your family as it grows. May he also be a blessing,a guide, and support to the new couple(Mr & Mrs Henson) and keep all of you in the comfort of his mighty hands.
LOVELY
Congratulations Bishop! Thank you so much for sharing your heart with us. I am so proud of you and Lady Serita. Your daughter looked so beautiful, she made me dream about my wedding. I pray that the blessings of the Lord will be upon the newlywed and that the Lord will always be the center of their union. Bishop, I also pray for your complete recovery, I miss you in the pulpit. Love
Bishop Jakes,
I want to say thank you. Thank you for setting a good example for your daughter. I am a daddy’s girl and I see the love and admiration your daughter feels when she looks at you. The love a daughter and father shares will have a profound effect on her relationships. As a woman she had to go through trial and error in the road we call life. I know that with your prayers, love and guidance she made the right decision. You and your family are truly a positive inspiration to all of us. We love you. Sarah, I wish you and your new husband joy, peace and much happiness. I ask that you keep me in your prayers as I embark upon the same journey. Pray that god send me a god fearing man who will look at me the same way. Keep the Faith…
Thank you for sharing the wedding with me. Sarah and her husband make a striking couple. I pray for them and their families. May God bless and keep you.
May The Lord of All bless this union and May Jesus always be the center of their lives. May Gods angels surround them always and keep them safe. May the Lord our God Bless her womb to bring about great men and woman for our countrys future. I am honored to be able to see such beautiful pictures and such a happy couple. And Bishop, your pain did not show ( to much ) but, your joy emminated. God Bless your your family, your staff and all that listen to your work for Jesus!
She was a beautiful bride. I pray that the Lord will truly make them of one mind and one in spirit.
I’m glad you are not ashamed to let people know you are an anoited man of God yet with the same feelings as the rest of us. God bless you and yours.
Dear Bishop Jakes,
Here’s a Big CONGRATULATIONS from me to you & your Blessed family on the occassion of your daughter’s wedding.
I thank you so much for sharing this Great Joy with us.
The Lord who’s began this Great Work for Sarah & Robert will be Faithful to Perfect it.
Sir, I Pray that The Lord whose u are Complete your Healing, Strengthen & INCRASE you a thousand times more….
Jah Bless!!!
I pray God’s Blessings over Sarah and Robert as they start on their journey as husband and wife. Thank you Bishop for sharing her/your special day with us. I was touched by what you felt as you were walking her down the isle. I got married in the “Summer” of my life and my dad had already been home with the lord for a number of years. We practiced our first dance for years with me standing on his feet and I had no doubt that, that day would not come and that dance would not happen. The day did come but it was my 12 year old son walking me down the aisle and taking his grandfathers place for that dance. As I look at your pictures and read your thoughts I can’t help but to wonder today as I tearfully did then, while waiting to do my “Wedding March” What would my dad have thought about this day.
God Bless you and First Lady and the entire Jakes family
Bishop Jakes,
I really enjoyed reading about Sarah and her new hubby, Robert (they both look adorable). I especially liked reading how you and your son-in-law had tears in their eyes, and that the groom met his bride with tears streaming down his face. That is so powerful. Real men do cry. Gives me chills. Thanks for sharing your detailed thoughts about the ceremony! Kids sure grow up fast. BTW, my sister Adrienne Thomas is on your staff. Thanks for all you do!!
Bishop,
I don’t know if you remember my father Bishop Don Bush Sr. He spent a lot of time with Bro & Sister Blue. He was a faithful supporter of your ministry and AAron’s Army. He passed away in 2004. Since he passed, I married for the 1st time in October of 2005! He couldn’t walk me down th eisle in the natural but I felt him in the spirit. He was an awesome man of God, wonderful pastor, and has won the father of the year in my mind and heart every year. When, I’m in trouble, hear the Word of God speaking to me, through him, as he always told us that the answer to every situation is in the Word! Bishop, as tears come down my face and the overwelming joy I feel for you and your family, I also, remember to “sorrow not, even as others who have no hope”. I have a hope that the dead “In Christ” shall rise first!!! Enjoy your personal time with your family because if you are half the father that my father was- I know that is was and will be very hard for any man to measure up in your daughter’s eyes. It took my father to tell me that I needed to make sure that I am receiving the husband that God has sent me and not the daddy that I have!!! It was hard. I’m sure that your children will bring you nothing but joy as they fufill their paths in life. Even if you don’t have the time to respond to this I hope you know how much you touched my father’s life. My prayer on this side is to become the parent that he was. Keep up the good work and God Bless.
Tina Bush-Dancy
Reading this, I could only think about my 2 daughters (ages 17 and 20) who will, sooner than later, decide to take that walk down the aisle. We try so hard to protect them in their physical and spiritual realm while still trying to keep the faith that they will be okay.
The family structure is being broke down at such an alarming pace it makes you wonder why our young people want to get married anyway. But that’s where we have to stay strong in our prayers. Pray for our families. Pray for our young people. Pray for guidance.
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family Bishop Jakes. And the groom’s family as well.
I don’t know you all but it seems like I do. It brought tears to my eyes the wedding was beautiful and Rev T.D Jakes the words you describe about your daughther was wonderful. I pray that your life together will be filled with love and happiness all the days to come. Rev T.D Jakes you are an inspirtation to me in some many ways I just want to say Thank You. Love always Angela Jackson from Oklahoma City.
Dear Mr. T D Jakes and Serita Jakes,
What an awesome day it must have been for you little girl and how blessed she is indeed to have had her father walk her down the isle and her future no longer through your eyes but the eyes of her husband. May God continue to heal your body as you continue to recover from your surgery and may the blessing of the Lord be poured out over the new life that your daughter is embarking.
Thank you for your teachings and for your heart. God’s continued blessing.
Tania
Bishop,
What a wonderful sight indeed! This was such a lovely post to read. I love the tears from the groom… I smiled and thought he truly understands the jewel in which he holds. Blessings to you and your family.
Temiika Gipson
Bishop Jakes,
God’s blessings to you and your family. I saw the pictures of your daughter’s wedding and they are beautiful !! The tears from Robert’s face just topped it all. I watched Robert grow up in elementary and high school. He is a beautiful person. Congratulations to the Newlyweds ! ! !
Hello Bishop,
I really enjoyed your blog. As I look over the photos, I pray that in 20+ years, I am able to give my daughter the gift of “the perfect day” as you have given your daughter. Having married the daughter of a Bishop, I can only imagine how she felt having her Daddy pray over her at her wedding. And I know how the groom felt! Been there!
I pray that God continues to bless you and your family - we need examples of Godly families out here. And I thank you for always being one of those examples.
Best wishes,
Clyde
Beautiful, Thanks so much for sharing
May the Lord Bless their Union!
Bishop & Mother Jakes,
Congratulations on the marriage of your daughter! The pictures just took me back to my own day of bliss little under a year ago. I believe they will be happy as they’ve begun their new life together. I was touched by how he couldn’t contain himself as he saw his bride come down the aisle. All the while, she was confident as she looked toward what would be the first chapter of a new series in her life. She has taken so much after Mother Jakes it’s amazing.
May God bless you all especially Sarah and Robert.
Take care,
The family is growing and may they truly be a blessing as we all share in thier moment.
Bishop,
congratulations to your daughter and her husband! It is such a welcomed relief to see a young man, crying, filled with joy, awaiting his bride! I pray that the Lord will watch over them and their union and that they will keep the joy they felt in their hearts on that special day, in their hearts forever!
God bless you Bishop, and God bless the newlyweds!
Thank you, for sharing the beautiful wedding pictures with us. May God Bless both familiesand the entire wedding party.
Dear Bishop Jakes and 1st Lady Sertia Jakes,
From one father to another, congratulations! May God continue to be a blessing in your lives and in the lives of your children as you have been a blessing in ours. You will never know how much God has used you to spiritually uplift and sustain our lives.
We continue to pray for you and your family and will one day come to visit you soon.
Again congratulations to the Bride and Groom. Whom God has put together, let NO MAN put asunder…
In Jesus name….
Sincerely,
James and Mia Diliingham
and the entire CSI Family
BISHOP TD JAKES, I JUST WOULD LIKE TO SAY, WHEN I OPEN UP THIS EMAIL AND SAW WHAT I SAW ALL I COULD DO WAS CRY, ITS LIKE I WAS THERE. AND I LOOK FORWARD TO THE DAY THAT I SAY I DO, TO MY GOD GIVEN HUSBAND. GOD BLESS AND I WISH MANY MANY HAPPY DAYS TO COME.
It was a joy to share your family on their special day. Sarah was beautiful and the weddinging party was breath taking, it remindided me of my special day four years ago. Thank you for allowing us to view Sarah’s special day with family and friends.
Hi Rev. T.D. Jakes;
I want to take this time to congratulate you, your daughter Sarah and her husband. I think they make such a beautiful couple. I will pray for them to have a forever and happy marriage. Rev. Jakes, I want to also take this time to say how proud I am of you as an African American male. It makes me so proud to see you walk your daughter down the isle. It brought tears to my eyes, because I have two daughters and both their fathers are not in their lives, and I always wonder who will walk my girls down the isles when their day comes. It saddens me to know that these fathers act this way. I do not know if I should be calling them “fathers”. Every day I pray to GOD that when that day comes I will be prepared, but you can never be prepared for something like this.
Rev. Jakes, you are a force to be recon with, and I am glad to write to you, because I need strength and wisdom. God sure do know how to pick his angels. I respect you soooooo much and I will keep praying for you to be well and to over-come any sickness that will try to hold you down.
May God always bless you and your family!
Thanks
Jackie
Bishop,
Wow… Thanks for shareing. Just looking at those pictures you can feel the Love, What a beautiful Bride and Handsome Groom. I too pray Gods blessings. Some say it’s a challenge for YOUNG couples but marriage is just like a job you have to work at it every day. Pray and keep god first.
Bishop, You and the first lady are awesome Thanks for all you do and are doing.
The photos are awesome. The one with the groom with tears steaming down his face tells it all. What Love! Congrats to the couple.
Thank you for sharing. Simply AWESOME. Many blessings to your family!!
Bishop Jakes,
You and first lady gave your daughter a beautiful wedding!! From what little I saw, it was a very spiritual wedding as well. I have looked at these pictures everyday since I received them. I am getting married July 3, 2009 and I was just sitting here trying to decide were to start, how much this may cost us and what colors should I use. My sister-in-law emiled me your daughters’ wedding and I knew right then that I wanted to use her colors. Please pray a special prayer for my big day and most of all for the marriage.
You and your ministry is a blessing to my entire family!!
Have you all

Congrats Bishop Jakes and Lady Serita!!! Your daughter is absolutely BEAUTIFUL; she is an amazingly striking bride; her new hubby isn’t too bad himself (Holla!!). I pray an abundance of God’s favor and blessings on their union. I know that your Daddy feelings kick in and you see your little girl as she was yesterday; kick a crazy shout with a voice of triumph unto the Lord Bishop Jakes as you raised your children well. You raised your children to be mighty warriors for God, so I know you wouldn’t accept anything less for your children. I’m sure this mate is the one the Lord intended for your daughter to meet and marry.
Hallelujah King Jesus!! Hallelujah. I will pray for you and yours and humbly as you to do the same for me, as I patiently wait on the Lord for the one He has purposed for me to meet and marry. God’s Hand is amazing and His promises are true. I will never stop being amazed at how He moves; it’s mind-blowing.
My absolute best wishes for all of you.
Sherry

Bishop & Elect Lady Jakes:
God bless you and your beautiful family. Sarah is breath takingly beautiful and your new son is very handsome. I know that they will cherish this moment forever. The Wedding (Pictures) was beautiful. May The Lord forever smile upon the couple and may the joy of the Hily Ghost be with them always.
It’s so beautiful to see both of them happy. I know that some day God will send someone to me and I will have that loving smile on my face also. I know with God’s blessing she will have a great life. God fixes any and everything. I know.
Congratulations: This is a moment in time that only parents can explain. We pray for our children but we often forget to pray that they find good helpmates and I know your parents have been doing just that.
May God keep you both in his love and in Love with each other, and that you follow in the footsteps of your parents until death. God is good.
Also thank you also for sharing your beautiful pictures.
Congratulations to the Jakes/Henson family. Thank you so much for sharing these wonderful photos. There are so many ladies who will never know the joy of having their loving father walk them down the isle. This tradition is steeped in symbolism and should not be taken for granted. May God bless this young couple and continue to bless your family.
Bishop and Mother Jakes, congratulations on the addition to your family. I was touched by the feeling of Bishop Jakes as he comentarily explained how he was feeling as the photos presented themselves. I am proud of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henson, per your request and my desire to see young marriages stand for what ever is presented throughout their lives. I will pray for these two to prosper and abound. Congratulations again.
Bishop Jakes,
Upon viewing the photos of your daughters beautiful wedding, I honored your request and prayed for the happy couple. I prayed for life, love, longevity, health, wealth, strength, peace, and unity. Congrats! My day is on the way!
Thanks for sharing the photos of your daughter’s beautfiful wedding. I did share the tears as I read your story and viewed the photos. Congratulations to your daughter and she was an extremely beautiful bride.

Just this short blog has blessed me so much. I can’t phanthom the blessing that it gave to you, your wife and family. I know that God was truly in the place because he was in the photos. I cried tears of joy with you. May God bless this couple until the end of time - thru generations to come. And, thank you Bishop Jakes for being the blessing to all of us that only God himself could prepare. I look forward to seeing and listening to you each day.
In Him,
Love You Much
What a beautiful event! Congratulations Bishop Jakes and to the newlyweds. In reading your blog, it is nice to know that you guys are real people with real family issues just like the rest of us. I appreciate your honesty, Bishop Jakes. I pray that your daughter and her new husband will experience pure joy and the blessings of God in their lives. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
Bishop,
Congratuations to the Jakes and Henson family. Thank you for sharing this experience of how good God IS. I am reminded in Mark 11:23 that I CAN HAVE WHAT I SAY. The beauty of this day for such a beautiful man and woman, Says to me that you have said a lot at full volume at times and no volume at other times. All that has transpired, is all that has been asked for.
I pray for conutinual balance for Robert and Sarah and that they understand the meaning of Give and Take.
God Bless,
Beatrice (CA)
I just want to extend sincerest thanks to Bishop TD Jakes for sharing the photos of his daughter’s wedding with me. The beauty of the Bride and Groom brings back memories of my own wedding 10 years ago. The fact is that my daddy, Pastor Colvin P. Francis of the International Gospel Centre, Fyzabad, Trinidad, West Indies, also had to ask me to slow down. Its truly a joy to hear “the father’s release” in Bishop’s voice. Not many pastoral fathers are prepared to let go of their daughters, but he did. As Bishop said, he doesn’t know what the future holds for Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henson, himself and his family, but there is One who truly holds theirs future and would ensure that His Divine Will be fulfilled in all their lives. Blessings to Mr. and Mrs. Henson, Bishop TD and Lady Serita and the rest of the family. Continue being the father that God has made you to be. Thanks for all your fatherly words of advice, encouragement and blessings from your Ministry.
Congulation, pastor Jakes on giving away you princess. Gods blessing with both of them as they start there lifes off together. Trust in him and only him, in all your steps.
May god be with you both.

What a beautiful blushing bride and a teary-eyed husband. I couldn’t help but to feel the joy they shared as she walked down that aisle with two of the most important men in her life. I will continuously keep them in my prayers as they embrace their life as one. I pray for you as well while your baby turns into the lady/wife that the Lord called her to be.
Many many blessings for you and Serita for doing such an exceptional job with raising your daughter, and to Samantha for raising a fine young man. Let’s continue to pray one for another.

Greetings Bishop,
Congratulations to you, 1st Lady Serita, and the Bride and Groom, from the Staff and Management of Rejoice! Musical Soul Food. Thank you for allowing us to experience the joy, happiness and emotions of such a personal and private portion of your life. It was beautiful and touching to hear about the father/daugther relationship you and Sarah share. Definitely an example for other fathers to follow. We wish much happiness and success to cover Robert and Sarah all the days of their lives together as one, and we pray that God continues to use you and your family to minister to the masses worldwide for a very long time.
PS. REAL MEN DO CRY…thanks for showing that side of you as well.
Bishop,
She is a beautiful young lady and I know God will direct she and her new husband in the path he will want them to go… Know she is in the best hands and look forward to the new additions soon!!! Grand Daddy!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Thank you for sharing this special day with us. Sarah made such a beautiful bride. Bishop Jakes, I can only imagine how you must have felt as you walked Sarah down the aisle and saw Robert’s eyes filled with tears. As a bride, my eyes would have welled up with tears also having seen my soon to be groom in such a humble grateful state. I wish them the best and will keep you and your familyin prayer. May they maximize each moment together in reference to your novel Maximize the moment. I look forward to seeing how God will use you next.
Mrs. Hill
Everything was so beautiful! Your daughter was absolutely gorgeous! It must be amazing to have a father that loves you so much. I see a deep love in your eyes for your daughter.
Robert’s tears said it all……… May God Bless your marriage.
Dear Bishop Jakes
Congratulations ! What a beautiful bride your daughter made. May the couple be blessed and walk one day at a time on this journey of holy matrimony. Coming from such a well grounded faith based family I know that she knows who her redeemer is and that their committment to each other will be as lasting as the roots of an Oak tree grounded deep into the earth as they rest their marriage into the hands of Almighty God.
From: Helene in South AFRICA
May the Lord continue to bless you and your family. CONGRATULATIONS on everything. I know now that everyone deserves a love like that (Groom’s face awaiting his beautiful bride). It is only through God’s grace and mercy that you can fathom that. The saying is “Find a man like your Father”. This is so true as you stated Bishop. When you saw the groom’s face you knew he saw what you had seen in your daughter through her years of growing up. I pray one day that I find a MAN like my father. He has shown me (continues to do so) what I mean to him and what LOVE is when it comes from the heart.
God Bless!
Hebrews 11:1

Thanks so much for sharing your daughter’s wedding pictures. They are beautiful!!!!! I just photographed a young couple getting married last Saturday. What a blessing it was for me to see these young people getting married. You are absolutely right, we must continue to pray and encourage these young people who are committing their lives to GOD and each other.
Congratulations on a beautiful wedding and the blessing of a first class celebrity celebration. We saw the clips on Entertainment tonight. We love your family. Lady Serita, the bride and wedding party were gorgeous! How I wish we’d been invited!
P.S. Our prayer is that the marriage be as magnificent as the wedding, reflecting the radiance of God’s love for us on the grand worldwide stage God has given your family.
The wedding party looks gorgeous. I enjoyed seeing the pictures. May God bless them in their marriage with lots of love and children. Good thoughts for their future together.

HI BISHOP JAKES, I WAS SO MOVED BY YOUR EMOTIONAL VIEW OF YOUR DAUGHTER’S WEDDING FROM A FATHER’S EYES. I HAD TO STOP FOR A MOMENT TO DRY MY EYES. I WAS ESPECIALLY TOUCHED BY THE GROOM…..TO SEE THAT KIND OF LOVE AND EMOTION IN A MAN’S EYES IS RARE IN THIS DAY. I HAVE THREE DAUGHTERS AND I PRAY THAT SOMEDAY THEY WILL FIND THAT KIND OF LOVE. I AGREE WITH YOU BISHOP, TO SEE THE SAME LOVE IN HIS EYES FOR YOUR DAUGHTER AS YOU HAVE IS SO COMFORTING. ALL OF MY DAUGHTERS ARE GROWN AND DESIRE TO BE MARRIED. I TOO AM WIDOWED AFTER 35YRS OF MARRIAGE. I PRAY I ALSO FIND THAT KIND OF LOVE. I JUST WANTED TO SAY, JOB WELL DONE. YOUR DAUGHTER WILL CHERRISH ALL THE FATHERLY ADVICE AND TIMES SPENT TOGETHER. MORE DAUGHTERS NEED FATHERS LIKE YOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS……GLORIA
Bishop Jakes, my mom watch your broadcast every Thursday night on chanel 14 at 8:00pm. I did as you requested and said a prayer for the new couple. The pictures and your words made me cry, because as a divorced mother of a beautiful 21 year old…the love I have for her is priceless. I’m proud to say that because of your teachings and my willingness to trust God with raising her she is still a young lady and has not given into temptation. I pray that one day I’ll be able to see the look that your son-in law has for your daughter, from some young man upon my daughter. Thank God for you and your wife Serita for giving so much hope to single mothers that are trying to raise their daughters or sons with morals and values the way God intends us to. I’m not a writer but I love all that you have inspired me to be. Love and Respect Ms. Crescentia Jones.
Beautiful!!!
We honor and love this First Family of The Potter’s House. And we agree that the newleweds will grow stronger together in union year after year….one day at a time. Amen.
Bishop & First Lady Congratulations on a job well done. She made a beautiful bride. Much Happiness, Much Peace, Much Joy in the Holy Ghost.
Dear Brother Jakes:
As the father of three girls, I am so feeling you in the memories of the moments that you have described. Though mine are still very young, when I am doing speaking engagements (or elementary school commencements as I recently addressed), I am mindful of how quickly time flies and how they are to us ever the beautiful miracles God has presented to us!
I tell my little Ladies and their Moms of how precious and loved and talented and gifted they are, on a daily basis, because I realize the importance of infusing within them a higher level of self confidence.
And I treasure the moments, smiling at the memories of the times we have shared, enjoying the present special places in time, and anticipating many, many more.
I also try to be mindful of the fact that we as parents should always keep in mind that whatever we do, we should consider the charge that God has given to us of doing the very best we can for the precious gifts that are our children. And this includes those born to us and those whom He has placed within our spheres of influence.
I stand with you and others in praying for the very best for this couple. And, I stand with you and many others in asking God’s continued mercy and blessings upon everyone.
The Very Best of Blessings to you and yours,
Stan Stewart
To this wonderful and blessed family:
May the love that is shown in these phots, continue thoughout your lives. Mya God watch, keep, and protect you. It is so wonderful to see God’s love coming through.
Many blessings.
Debra Lewis Curlee
Well my windshield wipers fogged up too, after viewing such wonderful pics. The color scheme waasn’t traditional. However, the colors were beautiful. I would like to say Congratualations to your daughter Sarah and the groom and may God Bless them throughout their endeavor:)
This was a blessing to read and to view each picture. What a beautiful wedding and what courage it took as a father to take the time to share your daughter’s special day with the world. It is also good to read about good news and view these beautiful pictures rather than the evil that is going on in the world today. This was a blessing and uplifted my spirit. My faithful father had the opportunity to walk me down the isle 5 years ago and I am thankful for that moment as he is in heaven now watching our marriage prosper and have good success. A father’s love is vital and you have shown this to be true. We will pray for your daughter, Sarah and her husband, Robert Henson as their marriage will be united and they grow in peace.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful and lovely wedding and photo. May God bless each you and remember, put him first and the rest will follow. Best Wishes…Bro. Vernon E. Bryant/VCreation
Absolutely beautiful! You and Ms. Jakes must be so proud. What a wonderful testament to all of your teaching on choosing the right man. God has super abundantly blessed you and your family. I will, as you ask, pray for this lovely couple. Like you, that look in his eyes was everything. You see the love that he has for Sarah and she for him.
May the peace of God that passes all of our understanding be a constant in their life and in the loves of their children.
Bless you Pastor.
Bishop Jakes and 1st Lady Serita Jakes, you have a beautful family, I want to say congradulations. You did not lose a daughter you gained a son. I will continue to pray for you and your family. May God continue to bless you all. Sarah was a beautiful bride.
Praise the Lord for daddys like you. With your daughter and her husband keeping God first in their
lives, all things are possible.
Dear Bishop,
Once again you have ministered to my heart. I have been blessed with one daughter and a great wife, my whole heart now yearns for the day when I will share the joy that you have so openly shared with us. I now know what to look for in my daughters future husband - A heart that loves her the same way that I do.
God Bless you Bishop!
Dear Bishop and Lady Serita,
I thank the Lord for this day. I look at the tears in the grooms eye’s and know that it is indeed the Lord’s doing and its marvelous in our eyes. The bride looks just beautiful and I really don’t blame her for rushing to the altar as she was rushing to be with her man and start a new destiny. This is how it should be. I lift them up and ask for wisdom with which to navigate their new life together and I also thank god for them. I also ask for wisdom for us all to make our way in life. God bless you
Congratulations to the wonderful couple and the good parents behind all this!!l
God Bless
Our prayers and love are extended to the newlyweds and their families. Our hearts are with you, Bishop and First Lady

I felt every bit of emotions that you were pouring out onto the pages. She looks absolutely stunning. They make a very lovely couple. And I respect how you have put the pictures and your feelings out there for the world to see, just like any other proud father would do. I will keep you, your daughter, new son-in-law and entire family, along with my family, friends, enemies and the rest of the world in prayer.
May God continue to bless you and family!
Much Love Always,
Kim
I pray that the two of you will be happy throughout you lives together as you were on the day of your wedding. Please make sure that you invite GOD in to your lives together from this day forward. Be blessed and happy.
Bishop you are so blessed. I raise my twins alone without a father and they have become grown and parted from me, my son got married this past February and had a child who is now 5 mo old and I have not laid eyes upon her and don’t know the wife and my daughter left 2 years ago and we don’t talk much and have a really strained relationship. But when I look @ your beautiful family I thank God that the enemy is not able to destroy all families as he has destroyed mine. You are a blessing and to so many and I can see how proud you are. May God show grace and mercy to the new couple, so they may share as you and your beautiful wife have shared
Congratulations and mo’ power to ya!
Dear Bishop,
Congratulation to your daughter and her new husband. Thank you for sharing such a special part of your lives with us. I was really touched by the words and display of love you have your daughters. I too was married over two years ago…Although I lived in the same house and was raised by my father growing up he was nothing more than just a provider to us all, we never were hungry, homeless, etc… He was a strict authoritarian figure driven by strong Christian principles. My parents had 4 girls and 1 boy (the boy is the youngest), needless to say we were not allowed to do or get away with anything. I thought that he hated me as I was the Black Sheep of the family. I can go on and on about my families issues resolved and unresolved…But I’ll wait to contact Dr. Phil for that. But I can truly say that one if not the most proudest moment in his life was walking me down the aisle on my wedding day. The only regret that I have is that he would not dance with me as you did your daughter (religious reasons). I will treasure that one moment in time because I do not have many with my father.
Thanks for taking me down memory lane..May God forever keep you and your family.
P.S. You looked realy fly that day:)
FOR THIS DAY IN TIME IT IS HARD TO BE MARRIED WITH ALL THIS STUFF GOING ON. BUT I THANK GOD THERE IS SOME REAL PEOPLE OUT HERE WHO STILL BELIEVE IN MARRAIGE, I KNOW GOD WILL BLESS THIS TIME FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE MARRIED AND TO LIVE FOR GOD FOR REAL SO YALL BE BE BLESS AND ROBERT I HOPE UR NOT MY KINFOLK IN DALLAS LOL BE BLESSED FROM GLADEWATER BYE WAY OF AUSTIN TX!
Thank you for sharing your joy, tears and this momentous life experience with us. Having become a mother just 12 1/2 short months ago, I look at everything differently now — through my newly born “mothering” eyes. It is with these eyes that I viewed these lovely pictures, and with these eyes that I read your blog. I am able to understand in such a new and profound way, truly how you must feel. I pray God’s greatest and bests blessings for this young couple, you, your wife and your precious family. Thanks for saying yes to God’s great challenge — to feed us, His sheep — it costs so much and we really appreciate it.
Bishop Jakes,
First I want to say what a stunning bride Sarah was on her wedding day! My emotions got the best of me as I looked at the picture of her husband crying as he watched her walked down the aisle. This is truly a treasured moment! By the time I got to the father-daughter dance, and read your blog about you picking out her dress for her, I pretty much needed a bucket. My emotions were as strong as if it were one of my daughters’ getting married.
Bishop Jakes and First Lady Serita you are truely a gift from God. You continue to set a new standards for us. Thank you!
Bishop Jakes, nothing makes me high like watching your services every Sundays (in Canada). Your messages are so inspiring! I have purchased all your sermons on CDs, so I can also listen to your messages in my car on my drive to work each day.
Sarah & Robert, God has you both in his hands. I wish you both love, peace, joy, happiness and all that God and life has to offer. Be Blessed always!
Sonia Amair (Canada)
Hi Bishop Jakes and Wife Serita Jakes, June 24, 2008 was one joyous occasion for your family. Exceptionally Blessed by God, I could feel the presence of God flowing through your words, and how how you briefly explained the joy in your heart. Hey you are diserve to remember this “Special Day”. It is good for you to share how it felt from the heart of a “Daddy”. It was good to share how the groom was waiting on his gift from God his wife. I may not have had to opportunity to share it as the wedding began but I can feel it was very, very, exciting. Some words can not caputre how you and Mrs. Serita Jakes felt on this “Special Day”. God Bless You , GOd Bless the Newlyweds, as long as they allow GOd to lead them everything will be alright. Be Blessed The Jakes, Family and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Henson. Thank You
Oh my God,isn’t she beautiful. I almost had tears come down my face. WOW!! She is absolutely fabolous. I know that her parents are proud. Thank you for sharing your photos. She looks so much like mom. Awesome!!!
God has truly smiled on The Bishop and his glorious family.
Dear Bishop Jakes,
Thank you for sharing one of your most precious moments, as I reflect on 9 years ago my father walking me down the aisle. He died a peaceful death a little over 3 years ago and I truly believe that he was just waiting on God to Bless me with my wonderful husband. I pray that God will continue to Bless Robert & Sarah’s life in everything that they do. May he strengthen their minds, hearts, bodies and souls. May He keep them in the company of positive thinkers and doers that they may be encouraged to do right by each other at all times. I pray for peace for you all to give this new couple words of wisdom, fairness, and keys to longivity. May you all be Blessed in Jesus Name, Amen.
THIS IS TO LADY SERITA,
MAY GOD KEEP YOU SO NOW IN TUNED FOR THE REMAINING CHILDREN, KEEP PRAYING THAT GOD’S PERFECT MATE WILL LINE UP WITH THEM AS WELL. THAT TRUE MATE SIBLING WILL BE IN THE MIDST (WHAT A TIME WHEN ALL OF THEM AND THEIR MATES GET TOGETHER FOR THE REAL FAMILY PORTRAIT OR GATHERING). BE BLESSED
BISHOP, AS A SINGLE MOTHER OF TWO BEAUTIFUL GIRLS, I UNDERSTAND HOW HARD IT IS TO SHUT DOWN AND JUST TELL GOD TO GUIDE THEM AND THEIR DECISIONS. I CALL OUT TO GOD BECAUSE MY BABIES HAVE SAVED THEMSELVES AND BECOME YOUNG WOMEN OF GOD BY CHOICE AND I WANT TO SEE THEIR SOUL THROUGH HIS EYES AS WELL. I PRAY THAT HE RESPECT HER THOUGHT AS WELL AS HER DESIRE.
The expression Bishop T.D Jakes used to discribe his feelings for is daughter was so wonderfully said.
All Dad’s should experience this feeling of joy and celebration. Your heart and soul is so open and God is truly shinning through. I believe its the feeling God has for all his children when we do all to please him. I will pray to God the Almightly for Bishop Jakes family, I wish blessing on them forever.
Bishop Jakes and First Lady,
Wonderful, Wonderful Moment, I was moved with tears of joy to have viewed this wonderful wedding and to read the words of wisdom and the heart felt thoughts of the father (Bishop). I too wait with that expectation of my father to walk me down the aisles with my God given husband. As the couple journey their road of unity; I pray that God and prayer be a part of their union, their difficulties, their success, bearing of children and their personal ministry. I pray that they increase in fruits, wisdom and prosperity. I pray that a hedge of protection would be set around them in their travels and success. I pray that Sarah’s husband always has eyes for her and love for her that gives them a life time of loyalty and honesty, between one another. I pray that Sarah and her husband give you and first lady grandchildren that hear your wisdom and learn to become a strong family that maintains unity that extends generations’ of Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. May the Lord Bless You Bishop, First Lady, Your Church Family, Partners,’ Television Viewers,’ and The Lost, etc…
Thank you for sharing such precious moments. Congratulations to all of you, and I will share in your prayer for the blessing of the lovly couple.

Greetings in the name of the most High GOD Jesus Christ.
Bishop Jakes, I really enjoyed you sharing your wealth ( your daughter wedding, which is indeed a blessing from GOD) with the masses, I was so delighted to read your blogs, a co-worker sent it to me ,and I was just so happy to see how happy you were for your beautiful baby girl, on her Special Day! In the worlds we live in today you don’t often see many fathers involved in their children lives, even if they are in the home most don’t have time for their kids because they are busy trying to keep hope alive by this i mean paying the bills, working two or three jobs etc…, But I can tell that you have made much time for your family just by reading your blogs, you have equally shared yourself with your biological, church, and spiritual family as well. I pray that God touch Mr, and Mrs. Henson that they may each walk after God own heart, that they may put him first in their marriage through the god and bad times. As I read on I sense you were a little scared about how they were going to weather the tides of marriage, I can tell you in how she is going to do that , she had you and Serita as parents, and if you have set the fine example that I know you did then she and the sir are going to be OK. She was trained in the way to go by one of the best that God has to offer….Sarah and her Husband are going to be fine you just wait and see. The best for Sarah is yet to come! Peace from The father above and much love ! Muah!
What an awesome family. I am so glad to be a part of such a beautiful church family. The family shows such geniune love and compassion. It spreads to the congregation. I know God will continue to bless Bishop T. D. and First Lady Serita Jakes and family as well as the beautiful union of their daughter and new son. God Bless You all.
It was indeed an honor for me to have the Bishop share those special moments with me a frequent reader of his blog , as his beautiful daughter left his caring arms into at that of a faithful and devoted husband.I pray that the bonds of love be strenghtened between the couple who faces a life of uncertainity, However they can count on the wisdom of an Eternal God to see them through .God riches blessing.

Congratulations Dad, Mom, Sarah and new Son ! May favor and the blessings of our Father in Heaven continue to shower your family. Thank you for sharing a special day in your lives with those of us that respect you Bishop Jakes and Our gracious Woman of God, sister Serita. Tears flowed from my eyes when I saw the tears flowing from your new sons eyes. I too pray that a Godly man that can freely express the same love you feel for your baby will enter my daughters life. Sarah is beautiful and I can remember her speaking out so boldly with confidence on several TBN segments. The new couple will truly represent the Lord well and I look forward to watching them soar in the kingdom work!
Bishop Jakes and First Lady Serita: Thank you for allowing us to share a hint of your joy concerning your daughter’s wedding by internet. The pictures are beautiful. I remember Sarah as a little girl before you all moved from WV to Texas. I can hardly believe that she is now grown and married. Praying Gods blessings upon your daughter and son-in-law as they began their new life together. May you and yours continually be blessed beyond measure.

my heart is singing! thank you for sharing these special moments with us Bishop Jakes. My prayers and very best thoughts for Sarah and Robert are already in flight. I just know that Jesus will richly bless and keep them, all of their days TOGETHER! I’m just so excited for them, and for you, Miss Serita and the rest of your family. You are very precious to me over here in Ohio and it’s just good to see what God loves going on in the Earth. Oh, the most precious of all life experiences are those that cannot be bought or sold. What a beautiful gift the Lord gave you and your family in such precioius moments as these. I appreciate your obedience and faithfulness in your ministry and I know that same obedience and faithfulness touches the heart of God, and will cover your babies as they embark on this new journey in marriage, as partner, husband and wife! Stay prayerful, you are blessed. And what a blessing you are to me Jakes family! Congratulations Sarah and Robert!
It is so powerful that a moment where a father can relate with a young man with regards to the father’s daughter. I too have a tear in my eye. May God bless the comings and goings of this marriage and all those connected.
To the Hensons,
May the love of God be with you and may His hands continue to guide and protect you in whatever endevers you undertake.
God Bless
Dear Bishop Jakes,
Reading about your daughter brought tears to my eyes. I could just feel the love of your family. She and her husband are already blessed and now they will move on to a new level together. I have a 22 year old daughter who I love dearly, but she has made so many horrible mistakes including striking me. My husband and I continue letting her back in our lives when she needs us, but the relationship is not normal. I pray every night on knees to the good LORD and my church family pray as well. I yurn for a relationship like what I saw on the wedding pictures. I want her in my life, but refuse to deal with such disrespect. I love you Bishop Jakes and hope to meet you one day.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for sharing this experience with us! Congratulations to the Lovely Couple and the proud parents
Truly the look in groom’s eye for his bride is too much for words in a more than wondrous way.
God is sooooo good!
Bishop,
I am happy for your family. The celebration of marriage is a awesome event. I wish them peace, Love, and understanding in their new life today.
Wow it truly blessed my heart to be able to see the pictures of the lovely couple on their very special day.
I wish them both a wonderful and blessed life together as they began their journey as being one. I await for the day when I will meet my King and join him in marriage also. God Bless you and your family and thanks for sharing this special day with me.
Thank you for sharing this moment in time with us all Bishop. May God continue to bless you and Mrs. Jakes as your daughter and new son will need your wisdom and guidance in their new life
journey. I have prayed and will continue to pray for them. Having children myself I can certainly understand your sentiment.

Thank you for sharing your moments with the world. I rejoice with your daughter and son-in-law, in their new life as husband and wife. I pray God’s blessings upon their lives now and forever.
Man up Bishop…lol…it’s alright to cry! Such a beautiful display of what God has joined together. Thanks for sharing the moment with us. I’ve always admired your anointing. Praying for you and your family.
What a beautiful bride and groom, the wedding is beautiful and I wish God’s best for them all the days of their life.
Congratulations to the Jakes Family. May God bless this marriage. This is beautiful!!!! I am sitting here crying like I am a part of the family. I got the chance to meet TD Jakes at a book signing in St. Louis, Mo., a few years ago. I took a picture with him, and asked him if I could touch the hem of his garment. He laughed and said yes. I watch him faithfully every Sunday morning on BET. He does not know it, but he is my pastor!!!! I love me some TD Jakes and first Lady Serita Jakes. Since touching the hem of his garment, I have been made whole again. A change has truly come over me. Clarie Jefferson, RN BSN MSN.

Thank You for sharing this moment with us, this was a beautiful ceremony !!
Congratulations To your daughter and your new son in law !!
I know you must be so proud!
Get well and me and my family keep you in our prayers!!
Oh yay NICE SUIT !!.
Love Ya Bishop and First LAdy
Thank you for sharing such a personal family experience. It is inspiring and I am happy for your entire family. Your lives have been a huge spiritual and soulish blessing to me through your books, sermons, conferences, and experiential transparency. This was a lovely day for a lovely family. You always keep it “real”! I appreciate that alot coming from a segment of the overall population that perpetrates way too much.
What a joy to behold all of you and blessings have been prayed to Our Lord Jesus for the new couple. Thanks so much for sharing and allowing me and my first love (husband of 17 yrs) to illustrate to our girls now 16 & 8 what anointed union looks like! With all the media messages to ‘drop it like its hot’ gets mighty hard to remind them to hold on to ‘it’ if you know what I mean. As a couple very much just stupid in love with each other, we look at our beautiful daughters and are smitten daily and hope they are as blessed as your Sarah to wait on God. And we hope that special young man sees and appreciates the beauty in our daughters that we see. For if it had not been for God (thru you and your messages like Daddy Loves His Girls this little girl could not have healed and come up from the ashes of a house full of promiscuity and a history of absent fathers to rise up to the heavenly blessing of this anointed man God picked just for me.
Praise God and may He richly continue to bless, heal and expand your territory!
Bishop, the words you said to me back in 2003 before Pastor Moffett and I married are yet with me and I thank you for that.
Congrgratulations to You and First Lady for a job well done. and Congratulation to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henson. They are a beautiful couple, and the colors of the wedding are beautiful also.
I can now say to you what you said to me “Count It All Joy”!!! when you and First Lady Jakes are back in Georgia, Your Limo is waiting. God Bless
Sheila Moffett, Fayetteville Ga.
Blessing Abound to the newylweds!! I am so happy for, your wife;, and your daughter and son-in-law. In November, my grandson (25) married his beautiful wife and I thought I would stop being so excited, even the grandmother/grandson dance. Yes, in raising our children we want of course, salvation for each one in addition to marital bliss. I still look at them to day and pray daily for God’s Will Be Done, and continued happiness as they see eye - to eye or trying to amend differences, etc. So, I am praying for Sarah and Robert as well as you and Serita enjoying this couple.
Blessing Abound!
Congratulations to Bride and Groom. And to Pastor Jakes and First Lady. Thanks for shareing with us. The wedding photos are absolutely gorgeous. Make God bless and keep all of you.
Thank you Bishop and Lady Serita for sharing such a happy time with us. Bishop, Sarah made a beautiful bride, her and husband Robert makes a beautiful couple. Our children reach to the depths of our hearts and we always want what is best for them. My prayer is that God gives Sarah and Robert favor in their marriage and that they remember in all things to always put God first. I pray that they consult God before making any decisions about their life together–from buying a sofa or house. I know that you and Lady Serita have told her/them all of this, but since we are all God’s children, they belong to us all and I want only the best for her as I do my own.
First Lady Serita and Bishop Jakes,
Congratulations on raising a beautiful daughter. God as truly blessed you. Mrs. Jakes, I’m not sure you will remember but my grandmother was Elnora Powell from Beckley, WV. When I lived in Beckley I was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist church where I know you used to attend. Anyway, I just wanted send my comments of congratulations! The wedding looked like it was beautiful
Wow Time does fly when one is busy about the Father’s business… Greeting Bishop I am the Spiritual Son of The Late Dr. Aida A. Ford of New York… The last time I was in your presence and seen your daughter was when Pastor Ford was at your church several years ago. WOW Time doesn’t stand still… May God bless your dgtr and son n law as well as you and 1st Lady… Awesome and a beautifu Bride….
The wedding pictures are beautiful as you can see soooo much love in them. I am extremely happy for you and your family. I know that your Mom and Dad were looking down from heaven with pride. Keep doing the Lord’s work in dedication and humility and he will continue to bless the fruit of your labors. God bless and keep you all. Love Libbie
Man of God. . .
I don’t want to sound cliche’-ish or corney, but you gained a son. I a proud that you, yet again, set a positive example that seems so rare these days;
A father, giving away his daughter at her wedding, to a man that is worthy of her.
Congrats Man of God!
Thank you Bishop for sharing this with us. I am seriously holding back the tears. The wedding looked wonderful and Sarah was beautiful and her husband is handsome.
bishop and first lady
so happy for your family shows God is still in the blessing business and that love and marriage is still alive for couples. I also shed tears of joy. The pictures are awesome, beautiful, stunning. This gives
me more faith and hope for my grandchildrens generation about marriage.
God bless your family and your ministry .
It seems as though it were only yesterday when Sara and Cora were sitting close to their Grandmother or Betty at the Temple while you and First Lady conducted service. I can hardly believe she is all grown up and married and looking as lovely as can be. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness, in bringing the elegence of this personal event to those of us who weren’t able to attend and sharing your heart, your wisdom and your love with your other children across the country.
YOU ARE FOREVER IN MY HEART and I love you for who you are and all you do.
Be blessed, Get Well and take the best care of yourself that you can possible take.
My Best to Sara and Robert!!!
I am so glad Sarah found her Boaz. I am awaiting mine as well, and I hope he looks at me the same way Robert looked at Sarah.
I have not viewed the photos of your daughter’s wedding but I am sure they are beautiful. I congratulate your daughter, her husband and your family. I hope that they will truely keep God at the head of their lives and agree to disagree.
Bishop & Lady Jakes. What a blessed event that you have shared with all of us. THANK -YOU!!!
May God forever bless your daughter (SARA) and, her husband (ROBERT) in their marriage.
The couple looked stunningly beautiful on their wedding day. You and, Lady Serita must be proud as you should be! Sir, thank you for all that you do; for all of us. May the Lord continue to bless your family and ministry.
Carol M-Los Angeles
The most important aspect of this Glorious event is that GOD Himself was present for the entire time. Well done saints, well done! I pray the Lord richly Bless the newly weds in all they do. Even though the storms will come and the weapons are going to form they however, shall not prosper. May the groom become the King, Preist, Protector, Provider, and Prophet of his household. To the wife (virtuous woman) may you be an example for our lost queens in this world and become the help mate GOD intended you to be. Ohh satan can’t stand this at all.
I cannot hold back the tears…just seeing you and the bond that you share with your daughter. Not to mention how beautiful your family and the wedding party photos were. My dad did not get a chance to walk me down the aisle nor pray over my husband and me. Nor did my mom get to meet my husband let alone see us get married. My mother died my senior year of college (she and my dad had already divorced about 5 years prior). I don’t want to seem as though I am feeling sorry for my self or sharing a sob story during such a joyous moment—I just want peaple, especially young people to know and realize just how TRULY BLESSED they are to still have their parents in the lives and still alive sharing love, wisdom, and the true essence of family!
Hi Bishop and Lady Serita Jakes: Children are a chosen free will gift from God and you have humbly shared a wonderful gift The Almighty gave you. I believe that the Holy Spirit has captured your son-in -law, same as Saul on the road to Damascus, and shown him the great and precious gift God placed on this earth and chosen them for each other. I pray that the supernatural power of God on your family and yourself on this joyous occasion. You are Blessed and like Abraham, your seed through obedience will be multiplied and overtake you. God Bless,
Missionary
May God continue to bless their marraige!
Toni

Wow…The Bride and Groom have the same beautiful smiles! That’s a good sign! Congratulations and God Bless all of your family and friends.
P.S. - I’m sending this to all of my students here at South Carolina State College. What a wonderful illustration of letting the Lord help you find the right mate.
Pastor T.D & First Lady Serita Jakes
Thanks be to God for the things He has done for Princess Sarah and your lovely family. My heart is leaping for joy as you celebrate Sarah. Sarah is simply beautiful inside and out with great potential and purpose. Words can not express how happy and grateful I am for you and your family. You sure deserve it! By the way, Happy belated birthday and Father’s day, PaPa J. You are a true blessing to the world. Sarah pictures are a knock out and yes they made me cry too! WOW! How can two walk together except they agree? The power of agreement is remarkable and priceless. As you (Robert and Sarah) walk together in harmony, may the Lord protect, guide and order your footsteps in everything that you do. May He grant you joy, love, health, happiness, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, ability and peace. When two become one in a marriage covenant, something miraculous happens in the atmosphere. My continued prayers are with Sarah and Robert’s covenant with the Lord and each other. What God has joined together, let no man put asunder. May this union be a blessing to one another and a blessing to the world. May you (Robert and Sarah) live a long life and grow old together gracefully. Since marriage is divinely given by God; keep Him first in all that you do. May your marriage enrich young and old couples alike of what life is when two people totally, sincerely love each other in Christ. I will always cover you and your marriages in prayer. Love You:)
To the beautiful bride and groom. I wish you all the wonderful blessings God has in-store for you. Don’t forget to talk to one another and laugh a whole lot. Dreams really do come true. To Mom and Dad you done good. Tina B. Dean - Houston
Congratulations Bishop, First lady, Robert and Sarah. I love you all so much. Robert and Sarah, remember to always put God first in everything you do. Absolutely, everything and lastly, remember to live well, love much and laugh often! The entire Potter’s House Family love you and have covered you all in prayer.

Had no idea your babies have grown up!!!
What a beautiful young lady Sarah grew up to be!!
Even more, how Blessed the newlyweds are to have had what far too many “just married” couples fail to cherish or acknowldedge before and DURING their weddings: PRAYER!!
Bishop Jakes and First Lady: Keep Holding On, The Best for you both and the newlyweds, is YET to come!!
May the Good Lod continue to shower his Blessings down upon ALL of you!

Pastor T.D. & First Lady Serita Jakes
Congratulations! Marriage is a beautiful union and it is great to see couples continuing the path of our elders. Thank you for sharing the pictures and your personal thoughts …
Sarah and Robert, as newlywed ourselves (October 20, 2007) my husband Anthony and I will share with you these thoughts we have followed since we met in 2004 and continue to follow: Always trust that God will show you the right path to take, communicate on a daily basis and laugh often, always keep a weekly date; keep yourselves surrounded by positive counterparts and always hold dear in your heart the reason you fell in love. Marriage is awesome!
We wish you the best! May God continue bless you and keep you safe!
What BEAUTIFUL pictures congratulations to Sarah and Robert and to you Bishop and Serita. I cried for all the sarah’s and daughters and son’s of the world the world! May God Bless them through this journey in life.
absoluteyly beautiful!
May God continually bless the T.D. Jakes family. The newly weds make a lovely couple. You will always be in our prayers. God Bless.
Bishop Jakes,
Thanks for sharing your daughter’s wedding photos. This gave me some ideas for my daughter’s wedding which is August 2, 2008. Love to you and your family. Edna Walton - Sherwood, Arkansas.
Bishop Jakes:
Thank you for sharing this personal moment in you and your family’s lives. I wish your daughter and new son blessings and happiness. I also found your statement, ” I told them that I would mute my noise maker when I saw them with a guy who looked at them the same way that I do. I said when he sees in you what I see in you then I will shut my mouth and relax,” to be so profound.
I lost my own father in a car accident 2 years ago (my mother pased 4 years ago) and I would like to know, if God ever wills marriage for me in my life, what loving advice could you share with me so that I can be somewhat assured that I’ve found the right person?” Thank you in advance.
As I read this entry from your heart Bishop, it really touched my soul. As a mature woman (40ish) who has made some wrong choices in life. it is truely uplifting to see that marriage is still a sacred thing in the life of God’s people. I wasn’t filled with the spirit of God when I was your daughter’s age, but I had God on my side even when I didn’t know it. So even though I wasn’t always quite right, God instilled in me a respect for marriage that has always stopped me from making a wrong choice in that area. I know that God will send the right one, for he that find a wife finds a good thing and I believe that with you and Lady Serita as Sarah’s parents that Robert has found him a good thing! May God bless them in the days, years and children to come.
That is the most beautifuliest couple I’ve seen in years. I know that with God on their side they will be as beautiful as their parents; Bishop and Mrs TD Jakes. I pray God-Speed in their lives and I pray that they will continue to be happy all the days of their lives. I pray that only death will seperate them. WhAT A BLESSING. And it is so!!
God’s Blessing-Bishop & Mrs. Jakes,
My heart is so sad for all the daughters that never knew a father’s real love for his girls. I was raised in a home where our dad loved all of his children but he cherised his girls and never made a secret of it. I could feel that type of love in your writings about your daughter’s wedding day.May the Lord be the third person in their marriage forever. God Bless
Bishop thank you so much for alway allowing us into your personal life. Your daughter is truly a blessed young woman to have a father like you. The blog and pictures were an absolute joy she was beautiful. I truly believe that God will bless the union alway. Thank you again Bishop Jakes for sharing that special moment in your life with all of us. Congratulation to the happy couple(Robert and Sarah)also to you Bishop and to the First Lady(Serita) your years of happiness with you wife will be a blessing to newlyweds.
Bishop, and Mrs. Jakes, your daughter is so beautiful. Her wedding was also beautiful and one that will not be forgotten. This will be a blessed marriage.
We praise God for what he has done for Sarah and your family. God is faithful all the time and completes the work He has begun in our lives. I thank Him for hand picking Robert for Sarah, and granting you and Mrs. Jakes the peace that parents need when trusting another with their seed. I pray God will continue to keep them and strengthen them through the joys and pressures of marriage. I am so joyous for her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My family (Omorowa Clan) sends their blessings as well
We are sincerely praying for your family and we look forward to the great things God is doing for you and yours.
CONGRADULATIONS SARAH AND ROBERT- You are covered in prayer and your children will reap the rewards of parents who allow their lives to be hidden in Christ. God Bless You on your new journey.
God Bless you Bishop,
To share your personal moments with your lovely daughter and wife is fantastic. I’m very happy for you and for your daugter and new son-in-law, may God ever bless them now and always. If they follow in yours and Serita’s footsteps and take your advice they will have no other choice but to make it thru the storms of life. You’ve come a long way from Charleston, W.Va. and from where I met you in White Sulfur Springs, W.Va. and Pastor Joan Wilma’s church and then from being in your conventions and meetings in Charleston, I’m telling you I am so happy for you and your family. I pray that you will continue to be blessed and your family be blessed and especially Sarah as she embarks upon another chapter in her life. God bless her and Robert and may God ever continue to bless you, Serita, and the rest of your family. I love you and take care.
Dear Bishop and First Lady,

My Love for you and your family will forever be in my heart, as I see God blessing you and yours.
If it were not for you I don’t know if I would be with my family today, to see my Recheal almost 17 this year, and I see your joy as a father. I can only hope and pray for the same joy on that day. Be well my old friend, your passion as always has blessed us all.
Donnie
beautiful wedding, congratulations to the new bride and groom. I wish them God’s guidance, love, favour, grace and mercy throughout their lives. May they always look at each other the way they did on this day to honour, love and adore all their days of their lives. Amen
Bishop it is with humbleness that I send this email to you knowing that God is taking you to another realm of Glory. With God all things are possible. Congratulation to your daughter for making your dreams come to pass. You have fought the fight and now seat back and see what God is about to do in your family and ministry. Its good to see how God takes one from one Glory to another.
Getting married is a big overcoming for the devil hates marriage. I am recently married and I know this from experience. God enabled me to overcome the pressures and attacks that I encured in my marriage. This far I can say is the Lord’s doing.
Congrats Bishop
Bishop & Serita Jakes,
God sent you an angel and Sarah was the angel that showed young woman that there is still true love in this world. May God keep his hands upon her and her love of her life. Bishop the smile on your daughter’s face showed the love that she had been given as a child. I commend you and your wife for showing her the right way and now it is up to her to use what she have been taught. And thanks for sharing such a beautiful wedding with the spirit of the Lord all over the place. Congratulations you have just earn another son.
Grace & Peace Bishop Jakes & First Lady,

Bishop Jakes, thank you for sharing such beautiful pictures and your family’s special day with us. I was deeply moved by the pictures and your reflections. I pray that this union last for any eternity and that whatever comes their way they will bond together and come out victorious. Marriage is a beautiful thing and I am glad to be a part of it. I have 3 daughters and I’m trusting God to send the right mate for them as well. I am married again and I have 10 additional children from my husband side and our youngest son got married to his childhood sweetheart here at our home in the yard, It was so beautiful and my husband, the groom, the bride, and probably everyone else had tears of joy running down our faces. We sense such an awesome presence of the Holy Spirit there. (you see they are 19 years old and with child, but they loved each other and wanted to be marrried) God forgives and continues to love us in spite of our mistakes and they wanted it to be right before the Lord. Bishop thank you for sharing your many years of experience with us through your broadcasts on tv, books, and internet. I am better because of it. Blessing to your and your family
Congratulations Bishop and First Lady Sis.Serita Jakes.

Hi Bishop,
Your daughter is such a beautiful bride and she has such a smile that would be worth millions.
I know that you are so proud of your daughter and new son-in-law. It is such a blessing and joy to be able to see and be with her as she enters into a new life. I am still waiting for the day when I can sit back and watch my daughter take that walk and know that she is truely in love with God and her husband to be. We here in Wilson NC are praying that they will have long life and great health along with success as they travel through time together. May the Lord bless you and keep you and your family uplifted in all that you go through and keep your bodies strong.
Oh, how I long to have waited for true love. Three kids (a set of twins) and many court battles later, still single, and in my early 40’s, I look at these beautiful images and long for the opportunity to recapture my youth in order to make wiser choices. May God richly bless this loving newlywed couple with wisdom and longevity!
Hello Bishop Jakes,
God blessed you with a beautiful daughter and a new member to your family. Congrat to you and the family.
I listen to you every Sunday on TV, you are a very intelligent man, God has blessed you with so many insights on how to help others, maybe one day I can talk with you on how I can reposition myself for so many reason, yes I have readed your book, I am going through somethings, and allow the devil to step in and my thoughts were that maybe I will be better off if I am not on this earth anymore, I had to drop to my knees and ask God for his help because it too much for me to carry at this moment, I am asking you for your help. God Blessing and Keep blessing and helping other.
All I can say isWWWWOOOOWWWW!!!! That is my prayer. “Lord, I thank You for allowing me to experience marriage the way You have designed it and not the way I’ve seen it.”
I don’t just want a wedding but I want a covenant marriage!!!
To God be the Glory for the great things He hath done. May they be continually blessed.
With the sweet love of JESUS, Gwen.
To God be the Glory; Great things He has done!
Congratulations to the newly wedded couple! I pray that God’s love will continue to abide in their marriage binding them forever with cods of love that can never be broken…
I am so thrilled reading through Bishop T D Jakes comments about his daughter’s wedding. Now, I realise how difficult it is for parents to part with their children especially in marriage. It appears that it is more difficult for the Father of the Bride… You have helped me to understand what was going on in my Father’s mind on the day of my wedding… especially the ‘Going Away’ party…. I myself couldn’t bear to hear the sound of his voice that evening,,, it brake my heart and filled my eyes with outburst of tears that seemed unending.. My mother made it clear that when once a woman have had her 1st degree, the next thing is for her to have her MRS Degree…Pastor Jakes, Sarah has got her MRS Degree! I would never forget her very words…”It is difficult to part with such a beautiful, charming, dilligent, dutiful and obedient daughter, .. says my mother… Congratulations once more!
To The Newlyweds, Robert & Sarah Henson,
I am so happy for you! You are a absolutely beautiful couple! I pray that God will richly bless and keep you as you begin your new life together as husband and wife. Remember that marriage takes 3 - God, Robert an dSarah!
To Bishop and Lady Jakes,
Words cannot express how much of a blessing you are to all of us. The wedding was a conformation of how I want my wedding to be. Robert is a confirmation of how I want my husband to be - to see me as God sees me. Robert and Sarah are a confirmation of how I want my marriage to be - good, acceptable and perfect. Only God did this and I rejoice with you.
God bless all of you!
:o)
These pictures speak volume alone. My husband cried throughout my wedding and it was special then and it is still special after 11 years. May God Bless You All. From A Happy Married Lady
I would like to offer a prayer To the Jakes and Henson Families:
May our Father in Heaven continue to bless you and your families, the children; their children and their children’s children continually for now and evermore. May the Hand of our Father in Heaven prove always present in their lives and the lives of those they minister to. In Jesus Name Amen
Bless you All and Congratulations (*.*(
It is so nice to see a young couple joined together in marriage, and happy. I pray that GOD gives you the desires of your hearts. Kepp GOD first and everyone else OUT. I know the cliche’ is “last” but out is a better verse. God will answer every question, heal every hurt and calm every curosity.Bishop Jakes came to my church home Second Ebenezer, Bishop elect Edgar L. Vann, and truly blessed us and our new Church I thank God for him and his ministry, May God Bless and Keep you Both,
The Twyman’s
Detroit, MI
Thanks Bishop for sharing such a private part of your life with us. Wow, every single word in which you described how everything happened made every scene so real to me that for a moment I thought I was there. Sarah looked like a princess…so beautiful..but when I saw the picture of Robert with those tears rolling down his face I felt like crying myself. You have a blessed family, I can only imagen the Lord’s face glowing and sending all of his blessing upon Sarah and Robert. May the Lord continue to bless your family and may HE also continue to bless this young couple as they start a new life in Christ. Thank you for sharing those beautiful pictures with us, thank you for all of your wisdom, you are very dear to my family and I, to the point that my 12 year old daughter Nicole who went to MegaFest 3 years ago (she was 9 then) still talks about what an “awesome Pastor”. Our love to Serita… Serita you have done an amazing job taking care of your family…………
Be Blessed!!!
Ariel, Millie, Aramis and Nicole Herrera
“TO GOD BE THE GLORY…FOR THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE”
I have heard about weedings made in heaven but never thought that I would see one. The tears from the groom has left me in “AWE” because modern day society says that a man is not suppose to show emotion because that would take away from his manly side but “WHAT WOULD JESUS DO? WOULD HE WEEP?
Thank you for sharing this special day with me. May the Lord protect and guide you (Robert and Sarah) as you continue your lives as ONE keeping Him first in all that you do. Bishop Jakes, I can only imagine how you must have felt as you walked Sarah down the aisle and saw Robert’s eyes filled with tears. I wish them the best and will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thank you again for sharing this special moment with me.
Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful….. may God contintue to Bless you and yours.
Love it all!!
Bishop T.D. and Lady Serita Jakes,
Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful pictures of your daughter’s wedding. Marriage is ordained of God and it is a beautiful thing to see young people going forth into a life together. I will pray that God sustain Sarah and Robert’s marriage and that they place Him at the head of their marriage and their household. He can and will help them to sustain it. It was so sweet to see Robert’s tears as he viewed his bride coming toward him. I pray God allow him to see her beauty in the trying times as well and that God allow her to see and remember his look when trouble besets them as it will. Robert and Sarah keep God first and He has promised He will never leave or forsake you. He will be there in trouble.
Bishop and Lady Jakes, thank you for being the gifts to the world you have been. Continue to give forth words of wisdom and life. You have truly been a blessing. God sustain and keep you. (Bishop Noel Jones looked good as usual). Love to you all!!
WOW, Look AT GOD.
Bishop, God has blessed you & Lady Serita in such an AWESOME way. He has showed His love through you. And now you are sharing it with others and your children.
I remember when you first became public not many years ago. LOOK AT GOD. What a blessing
The pictures are beautiful and I am sure the event was also. I pray that your daughter & new son-in-law acknowledge God first in everything they do. Their love for one another and God will remain, regardless of what comes there way.
God’s willing one day this will be me
WOW! What beautiful, genuine words you have shared with us from your heart! I am excited for the new journey of marriage for Mr & Mrs Robert Henson. Bishop and First Lady Jakes you have a beautiful daughter and with the wisdom God has given you, they will not lack role models to mentor and provide advice on the journey, not to mention prayer. I will indeed pray for them. Your article has also encouraged me, because my husband and I are questionable to the choices my oldest son and daughter make. However, this article gave me a sense of peace and I want to thank you for sharing some of your “private” moments. Congratulations!!!!

Bishop and First Lady Jakes:
You and your family have CERTAINLY raised the bar for bride’s and grooms around the world.
MY! MY! MY!
Thank you for your example to this generation and generations to come, not only in stellar wedding planning(ha!), but also in godly living and Christian service. Bishop, you and your wife are two of the most giving people I know.
Our family has marveled at your muti-dimensional ministry and the way that you display your gifts while encouraging the gifts of your wife, family and church members.
This wedding seems to have been a marvelous mirror of your life and your family’s life: one sealed with excellence, beauty, favor and God’s creativity.
As a Pastor’s a daughter I know how special “private moments” are to the the families of preachers and I salute you for giving the world a peak into this significant and private family moment in time. My mother, Sheila Bailey, was in attendance of your daughter’s wedding and she said it was one of the most BEAUTIFUL AND WORSHIPFUL events she had ever attended. My only regret is not being in town so that I could witness it with her. (smile)
Congrats to you, your wife, your precious daughter and new son and the entire family.
We continue to join the angels in heaven in applauding what God has done.
May God bless their union and their future as they go to higher heights and deeper depths for God’s glory.
With love and admiration,
Cokiesha Bailey Robinson

Hi Bishop and Lady Serita,
I am so happy that you decided to share your daughter’s wedding with us. The love the love that you have for her, I have never experienced. It is sooo good to see what a father’s love can do for a daughter. I thank you for being the man that you are. I thank you for your introducing me to God.
You have touched my life in so many ways. I thank you for answering God’s call with a yes to his will and way.
God Bless you and your family and I will be praying for the newlyweds as well!
Bishop and First Lady Jakes,
May God continue to BLESS you and your family… GOD is truly the Head of this “Union” and his love will always be a part of their lives. A true inspiration to the “Young People”.
God Bless,
Felicia
All I can say is WOW!!!! Your daughter has grown up to be such a BEAUTIFUL young lady. She looked like a PRINCESS, like royalty, red carpet material for sure !!! My prayer is that God would bless her and her new husband above and beyond that which they can ask, think or even imagine. I pray that God will give them wisdom and help them to navigate through life’s complexities. You have done well.. Parenting will never stop, it will just be on another level.. To the newlyweds; Congradulations!!! life for you has just begun…Enjoy your marital journey, it is one of the greatest institutions God placed in the earth..All the best to you and yours…
My daughter sent me this beautiful article today. Believe me the dept of beauty, love and warmth has helped to start my day full speed ahead. My wish and pray would be that all young women and men could be blessed to have such an experience. The dresses, ofcourse are beautiful, those in attendance, great; atmosphere, wonderful. But above all; the love came accross/thru the screen as if I was definitely a part of the festivities. What a joy to be able to feel the love. This is what Almighty God has given to us. The ability to feel it, taste it, and know that this is God’s way of communicating with his children.
Without a shadow of doubt these newly weds are destined for foreverness.
My Dearest Bishop & Lady Serita Jakes
As my baby girl and I sit in awe at the beauty and love so obvious through the pictures you have shared with us, I can’t help but envision that day when I too will have those same tears running down my face as my little girl takes that same walk as your Sarah has. I have a little while to wait though cause she is only 2 yrs old. I have been a follower of your ministry for quite some years now and I always count it an honor to hear the word of God from your heart to the hearts of the world. I pray that your family continue to grow and prosper in Christ Jesus as you continue to allow God to use you to bring his children to his throne of grace and righteousness. God Bless you Bishop!!! You are truly like the father I never had.
Wow! Now that was awesome! I truly appreciate you allowing us to see into the lives of your celebration with your family. Thank you so much and I will truly pray for their continued success and patience with each other as they embark upon to best days of their lives!

Praise the Lord for Bishop TD and First Lady Serita Jakes. As God said in his word to rejoice with others in their good times, I am very happy for your family at this time. Congratulations on Sarah and Robert joining together in wedded bliss. It means a lot to me Bishop for you to share your life with the world. Thank God that you answered the call many years ago to be a blessing to the nations. I see you as my spiritual father. I’m encouraged to want to get married even more now. First to be dedicated and committed to God and if it is his will to join to a good, godly man of God.
I have set the Lord before me for no good thing will he withhold from those that walk uprightly.
God bless.
Bishop and First Lady Serita Jakes thank you so much for sharing your daughter’s wedding with us. It was so beautiful. Your description of the emotions that day were so heart felt. I will continue to pray for Sarah and Robert, and for you and the family. You have given every woman that is waiting for God’s appointed season a hope. FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS TO MR. MRS ROBERT HENSON. YOU TWO LOOKED AMAZING ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. MR. JAKES SHARING THIS PICTURES WITH THE WORLD IS SO SWEET. AS I LOOKED AT THE PICTURES, TEARS CAME RUNNING DOWN MY FACE. THE WHOLE FAMILY LOOKED SO HAPPY. MAY GOD BLESS YOUR WHOLE FAMILY. MAY SARA AND ROBERT BE BLESSED AND FUTURE CHILDREN BE BLESSED. THROUGH THE PICTURES I CAN TELL THERE WAS A PRESENCE OF THE LORD WAS THERE. MY HEART IS FILLED WITH JOY AND HOPE, THAT ONE DAY I MAY ALSO BE HAPPY WITH THE ONE GOD HAS CHOSEN FOR ME ON MY WEDDING DAY, AND FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR DAUGHTERS WEDDING DAY WITH US, IT HAS BEEN SUCH A BLESSING.
Dear Bishop and First Lady Serita,
I cannot believe that Sarah and her sister are all grown up! These are the beautiful babies that used to ask us, “Are You Ready For My Daddy?” in their sweet little baby voices, as we waited with great anticipation for your broadcast to begin!
I cannot believe how time has flown. The entire story is told in the Father-Daughter Dance. We get a chance to *see* Bishop in a very “human” moment. A loving Dad as he contemplates “letting go” of his beloved daughter so that she can enter into the next phase of her young womanhood. That is PRICELESS. What a blessing to have such a Father’s love.
Having never had an earthly Father’s love, I have always envied and dearly longed for that kind of relationship. It isn’t that my father was absent. He was not. He was simply UNAVAILABLE. He had chosen my brother as his sole object of affection and I was “odd man out”. It was a hellish existence. So, when I see a loving father and daughter exchange, it is intriguing to witness.
What a glorious day for you all. The groom was a blessing to behold, as he couldn’t contain his love (and probably a little fear) for his beloved. Oh, it is Jesus!!! That kind of love and concern is the love that went to Calvary. How blessed they are to have in this life the love and bonds and binds hearts so closely together. He even shaved off his Mohawk to win her! LOL - He too, is well spoken of by his school mates. God bless this union!
P.S. I am praying for Sarah’s sister too. My love to you all, I hope to meet you and Sister Serita and hug your necks!!!
Love,
Sheila Ellis - San Francisco, CA
I have always admired Bishop Td. Jakes and when I heard that his daughter was to web, I thought isn’t she very young. I remembered how love has no age limit on who it takes control. Love is beautiful and Mrs. Henson is just as beautiful. I pray God will bless them and give them a fruitful marriage.
I am 31 and my wish, (my prayer, now) ever since I was the bride’s age is to be married, happily. They have found something great and May the good Lord show kindness to them.
What a BEAUTIFUL BRIDE!!!! May God CONTINUE to bless this union and your entire family!
Wow! GOD IS GOOD!…..Everything was simply beautiful and so sacred! Bishop Jakes and first lady…congratulations……as a mother with one daughter who is marrying in two weeks…..I will keep your family in prayer. Your Beautiful Sarah looks so happy and so does her husband, they will survive the Odds with GOD in the forefront along with you Bishop, as a Great leader and Man of God, by their side.
Thank you for sharing this milestone in your family’s life. And remember you did not lose your daughter but gained another son.
The sharing of the photos and your comments so fit your message on Father’s Day a father “is there”!! You were certainly there for your daughter, your wife and your family. You go Bishop! Thank you for leading our church by example and being so like Christ by not living above us but with us and sharing your life with us! I am so proud to be a member and a partner. Looking forward to Case De Fe…. on the 13th! Pastor Rocha and the leadership team are in my prayers…. Let’s do this…
Thank you for sharing this beautiful memory. As a single mother of 3 and having been abandoned after 20 years of marriage, your heart and your ministry helped to save my life and restore hope again. Marriage still is a beautiful thing…and God is still a beautiful God…even in the tough times. BEST WISHES
Sarah is a beautiful bride! Bishop, you did a great job in picking the dress. As I looked at the picture of Sarah’s wedding party, I was reminded of a statement you made one Sunday, Bishop. You said that “our success is our children’s normal.” Compare your daughter’s wedding photo to that of you and First Lady, and one can certainly see that your children are truly blessed by your success–as they should be. God bless Sarah and her husband as they begin this journey as man and wife. One can only imagine what their children’s “normal” will be. It is destined to be incredible.
Hi Bishop Jakes! I would first like to congratulate the newly weds and you for being a good dad. I was touched when I read about tears falling from the husband’s face. I am now 28 years old and if it is God’s will for me to get married one day, I hope my day be as the story that I have just read. It touched me. I don’t know you but I will call not only your daughter and her husband name out in pray, I will call the Jakes’ family out in prayer. God bless you!
Bishop & Sister Serita Jakes.
You are indeed blessed and highly favored of God. I wish and the new couple all blessing of God and a life worthwhile living. The pictures are sooooooooooooo beautiful. Bishop Jakes and Lady Jakes,

I have never seen a more beautiful affection of LOVE in all my days. I started out with oh and haw’s and finished a bowl of tears. This was truly beautiful to watch…my prayers will always be with you, the Henson’s and all that’s right with GOD
Bishop Jakes, It was wonderful to see the wedding pictures of your daughter and new son. My husband and I celebrated 40 years of marriage on June 28th. There have been rough times and great times. But through it all, God has been faithful, even when we weren’t. I pray that Mr. and Mrs. Henson, will continually seek the Lord and lean not unto their own understanding. I pray that they will always acknowlege Him and He has promised to direct their paths. God’s richest blessings to the new couple.

The true beauty of this blog is the story along with the pictures. You share emotions and wishes that every parent wants for their child(ren). That is that they be bless to meet and marry someone that carries the same unconditional love we have for them. As you said, it is only the beginning, but it is a great start!! May you and your family continue to be blessed by God!!
In Peace and Love,

Hi Bishop Jakes and First Lady Serita
As I look at the picture with you and Sarah dancing and the one where robert is waiting for his bride, it brought tears to my eyes. It brought to mind when my husband and I got married, my mother was in another country and my father was never a part of my life, and for my husband, his mother helped with the planning of the wedding, but never live to be a part of it. The tears that I saw in roberts eyes tells me that even in the rough time you would never have to worry about your daughter, because he will take care of Sarah inspite of. Continue to support them and when situations arises pray with them and for them. It is good to know that both you and First Lady is still arround to see the result of your labour. PEACE.
CONGRATS, YOUR ARE GREAT FATHER BOTH IN THE NATURAL AND SPIRITUAL.
YOUR A GREAT MAN OF GOD, JOY AND PEACE TO YOU
Congratulations Bishop… to you, your lovely daughter and her new husband. How truly blessed she must feel to have both a loving father and husband. Hard combination to “beat”. Interesting enough, I just finished your book “Celebrating Marriage”. How awesomely secure she must feel in knowing she has in you a source to help her navigate the complexities of life and marriage.
I would also like to say that although I have been inspired by your preaching, messages and “mega books”… God’s Leading Lady, Reposition Yourself, etc.. I have found your “little books”… Six Pillars from Ephesians, Water in the Wilderness, etc., the most inspirational of all. It is like hearing a sermon with each chapter. Your writings have trully blessed my faith walk.
Be blessed Bishop as you have blessed us all…
God Bless you and your family; Thanks for sharing, an awesome wedding and beautiful pictures. What a wonderful day to share.
Have a blessed week.
Nashville, TN
Bishop and Lady Jakes: To God be the Glory. Thank you for sharing what God can do. How beautiful marriage not only looks like, but what it can be. You and your wife have shown a wonderful example through your ministry and your testimonies in your books.
After being married for 23 years and now divorced. Seven years is approaching that I have been in capitivity of singleness. I say capitivity, because it’s not where I thought or even wanted to be at this time in my life. But the number 7 is my year. The date is soon approaching. I claim love and unity and marriage. I looked at these pictures and cried. I’m next in line, I thought to myself. I am praying for your daughter and her husband. I plead the Blood of Jesus over their life together.
Thank you for the Blessing of sharing. Congratulations.

Congratulations to the new bride and groom! I’ve had the pleasure of being a member of the Potter’s House (1997-2005) and have seen Sarah grow up into the most beautiful young lady. I was proud to see the highlights of this wonderous occasion and pray God’s best to the newlyweds and Bishop & First Lady Jakes. I was also moved to tears from this peek-a-boo blog into a loving father’s heart.
As I looked at all of the beautiful pictures of your daughter’s wedding, not only did it bring tears to my eyes, but hope in my heart. I am currently going through a divorce with a set of three year old triplets and a four year old. Though it is a trying time each day seems to get better and sweeter. The pictures encouraged to hold on to my dreams of a man much like my father Steve Terry, who I loved and learned the characteristics of a man. As well, as a man who sees me like my heavenly and earthly fathers sees me. My choice of falling in love and not sticking to my standards as well as moving out of God’s timing has taught me a life lesson that I pray I can protect my beautiful girls from. May God Bless this Sanction
With Love,

What the world need now is Love sweet Love! The wedding of your daughter Sarah was simply a picture of beauty: coverage was also aired here in Atlanta. It’s a blessing to have both parents present for a daughter’s special day; especially the “blushing” father. May God grant them many years together! Many Blessings…

I hope this can mean a lot to all of us, married / unmarried, that trusting in God whole heartedly with unshakeable faith has a great reward, while on earth, what more about when we get to heaven!
Pastor TD, congradulations once more to you all. We love you all and God bless you abundantly.
Thank you for your teachings too, what / where could we be without them.
Xongani Maureen Maluleke - Giyani, South Africa
Bishop just wanted to congratulate you and first lady on a job well done. As you said, many fathers do not make it to this very special point of their children’s lives, and many don’t see their children walk across the stage for their high school graduation, definitely not their weddings. I pray many blessings upon your daughter and new son-in-law marriage and their family. I pray that their family and future will be built on true commitment and God’s love. She looked very beautiful, and what taste you have to be involved in the most joyful moment of your daughter’s adult life. Now, prepare yourselves for little happy feet roaming around the house. Love you and be blessed. If your tears must fall, share them openly: and if your heart is over joy, rejoice happily. But just remember if she feels her steps coming to a fall, she’ll always know that her mommy and daddy can be reached by a phone call.
Bishop and First Lady
My eyes are filled with tears as i read the article and look at the photos all teh way in Africa, Nairobi Kenya.
One because it is such a blessed occasion and two because I am praying that when the Lord blesses me, my occasion will be so full of joy.
I pray that your daughter will be the helper that GOD has called her to be in that marriage.
I pray that the enemy will never have a foot hold in that family.
I also pray that they will touch lives the way you have touched lives all over the world.
And that the fevour of the Almighty God JEHOVAH will be upon their lives always.
Lastly may they Lord hide them under his wing.
CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BISHOP JAKES AND YOUR FAMILY.
You have one more son in your family.
Blessings from Nairobi Kenya.
Bishop Jakes ;
All I would like to say is thank you for sharing your family’s special day with the world. Looking at the pictures and reading your comments truely blessed me. You often wonder how a father feels when his daughter marries. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings and to show that a man who loves Jesus is a real man and can shed real tears. God Bless You All and I will keep the newlyweds in my prayers.
Helen Jones - Collegeville, PA
Wonderful! What a lucky girl. Congrats..
Wow, absolutely beautiful! How eloquently spoken. I’m sitting at my desk with tears in my eyes. A newlywed myself, first year, July 28, 2008, I can only imagine the immense joy you feel right now. I say this to you with much love, I was blessed with the kindest, most gentle, loving man on the face of this earth. A blessing I do not take lightly! As long as this marriage is between you, your husband, and the word of God, you can’t help but have a long lasting, rewarding relationship. It won’t be easy all the time as we live in a world full of nonesense, where somehow it became okay to give up! Believe me, in the midst of the nonesense there is still so much good! Do not be discourgaged! You belong to each other now and NOTHING is more important to fight for! You have good role models! Look at your mother and father! I guarantee you, the years together were not easily come by. The ultimate respect for marriages that survive the maddness! God’s Blessings be upon you both. Remember the Word. Obedience is a wonderful thing!
Bishop, Oh how blessed you are to be able to see your child move on to begin life with her new husband. God is awesome. I pray that her life with her new husband is as fulfilling as the life that you and Serita now share.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bishop Jakes & Lady Serita Jakes:
God has once again shined on your lives! Your daughter is a beautiful bride and the groom is a very handsome gentleman. The entire wedding and wedding party was awesome! Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos and may God continue to bless “YOUR HOUSE”

Bishop/First Lady, your beautiful daughter is a Blessed reflection of you both. Tears filled my eyes as I shared those precious moments visually & verbally of Sarah/Robert Hensen. I thank GOD, and ALL of you for the honor along with other believers and potential parts of the body of JESUS CHRIST.

I wish them Hugs, Peace, Love & Much Respect for One Another.
May They Both Touch Just A Piece Of Masters Robe.
GOD Bless & Congratulations.
Bishop and First Lady, Thank you so very much for sharing such wonder pictures of your daughter Sarah’s wedding. That is the mark of an oh so proud father. Even though you too are a celebrity in your own rights, you did not try to hide or sell your pictures to the highest bidder. You have consistently touched the lives of people all around and you have done so again, with the generosity of what you’ve shared here. Your daughter looks absolutely stunning and I know that you and your wife are so very proud. The groom… I agree with you. He had a look in his eyes as if he were beholding the most wonderful and precious gift coming down the aisle to join his side. He looked as if her majesty was coming his way. The tears were genuine and moving even to me through photo. I can only imagine how the look in his eyes affected your soul. I wish the two of them all of the blessings that almighty God has to give and may their lives be filled with love, fun and the spirit of God. Congratulations to you both and may God continue to bless all of you.

family so why not mine. I also know that by watching & reading what you shared that we can do all things
threw Him!!! Thank you so much for being an awesome example!! Love Patricia & Girls
Sara was simply a beautiful bride, I’m happy for her. When I saw the picture of the groom with tears running down his cheeks, my eyes filled up with tears because my heart saw that he was so sincere. I’m glad no one else was in the room with me because they would probably think I’m crazy to cry over someone I don’t even know. But my spirit knew his spirit, and because of that, TD Jakes, you will never have to worry about that daughter again….she is well loved and taken care of for long as they both shall live. He cherishes her. His tears said it all. Now I pray that the love/committment, which was displayed on their wedding day, will last forever and spill over into their children. May the peace and favor of God forever abide with them and their families.
Bishop Jakes & First Lady Serita,
I AM THE GREAT GRANDSON-IN-LAW OF MOTHER LOUISE BROOKS OF CHARLESTON,WEST VIRGINIA. I AM VERY HAPPY FOR YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER. IN TIMES LIKE THESE IT IS VERY HARD FOR YOUR PEOPLE TO RESPECT THE WILL OF GOD. I KNOW THE TEARS IN THAT YOUNG MANS’ EYES…THEY ARE TEARS OF JOY…JOY THAT HES’ FOUND A YOUNG LADY…NOT A WOMAN…A LADY THAT HE LOVES AND WILL CHERISH FOR THE REST OF HIS NATURAL LIFE. I THINK THAT YOUR DAUGHTER HAS FOUND A MAN THAT WILL BE TRUTHFUL AND FAITHFUL TO HER AND SOMEDAY THEIR FAMILY. CONTINUE TO BE A LOVING FATHER AND MOTHER. THEY WILL NEED YOUR HELP FROM TIME TO TIME…BUT THEY WILL MAKE IT. I BELIEVE THAT GOD IS …IS IN THE PLAN.
CONGRATUATIONS,
TRINITY HOUSE OF PRAYER WORSHIP CENTER
I have never seen or encountered a precher so annointed yet so down to earth with regard to human way of life, with its joys, triumphs, vulnerabilities and frailties, like Bishop TD Jakes. Happy milestone sir.
Thanks Bishop for sharing your Daughter’s wedding pictures even while I was undergoing surgery I heard of it and I pray that their marriage shall be a Blessing unto so many of us that are still single hoping to meet our soul-mate. Get Well Soon back surgery aint no joke because that’s the next one I have to undergo.
Beautiful Wedding/Beautiful Bride!!!
Congratulations!!!
Dear Bishop, Thank you for sharing such a precious time. I pray for your daughter and son-in-law, the word says that what you do for others God will make happen for you. So as often as you have blessed marriages, and prayed for families, it is just for the prayers and blessings to be returned to your family. My daughter is 22, I will look for that love in her husbands eyes as well when she meets him. GOD bless you and your family.
That was beautiful to get and understanding in the view of a father.Beautiful. May God continue to bring blessings to your family. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs.Robert Henson. Your words brought tears to my eyes, they were so beautiful and heartfelt. I hope that one day my father understand that feeling. I also hope that one day me and my fiance could receive your blessing and the blessing of the potter’s house, when we wed. Thank you for sharing this and really renewing my feelings toward marriage. Congratulations once again.
What a blessing it is for you and your wife to see your daughter marry. Now may all thing things you both have taught her over the years, especially behind closed door, be drawn upon and manifested in her life. The journey is crucial and the committment and dedication to each other must continually be their choice day by day as you continually lift them up in prayer. Lord we trust you…The journey through the good and hard/times makes marriage stronger. The committment and strength to love and live by the word of God is no doubt the key. I will remember your daughter and her new hubby in prayer that they would grow closer day by day and become one in every way (spirit, soul and body). May their trust in God surpass their trust in man and may choose to love at all times and forgive, and communicate continually and never be ashamed or afraid to seek unbaised Christian counseling. Anything worth keeping is worth paying the price.
