Thought of the Day: We Still Need the Blood

We did not need the blood only for when we cried out to the Lord to come into our hearts by faith and rescue us from impending danger. On the contrary, we still need that same blood today. All our strength and nourishment and every promise and miracle must flow to us through the blood. Satan hates the blood—not only because it redeemed us, but also because it continues to give us life from day to day!

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause He is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance (Hebrews 9:14-15).

We have lost our teaching of the blood in this age of Pentecostalism (of which I am adamantly a part). We have learned about the Spirit of God, but we failed to teach believers about the blood. Consequently, we have produced a generation of believers who are empowered by the Spirit but do not feel forgiven! They are empowered, yet they are insecure. They are operating in the gifts, but living in guilt!

Oh, hear me today! The blood must be preached. Without it we have no life. No, the preaching of the blood will not weaken the Church! To the contrary, it will relieve us of a pre-paid debt. Why are we wasting the power of God on the problems of our past? The blood has already totally destroyed the past bondages that held us down! It was through the eternal Spirit of God that Jesus was able to offer up His blood. The Spirit always refers us back to the blood. There can be no Pentecost where there is no Passover!

Thank you for the word. I am concerned about the solid rock that we must build our foundation on. What about the inability to get grounded to establish a resting place for the rock? I am under the impression that if you have no choice but to be consumed with basic security of body developing the mind is out of the guestion and therefore blocks the flow of blood.

I know…as a child that’s all I’ve ever heard and I even remember witnessing the power of the fiery mention of the Blood of Jesus Christ…as a child. The unity of the church where you really didn’t know who were the clicks, the sick, etc, because the Blood teaching word brought a we are going to conquer this thing, through the blood. All you knew is they were christians believers and folks faithfully living off of the preaching of the gospel and the rememberance of the blood of Jesus Christ. It’s a thirst quencher to hear it these days about the blood of Jesus, because it’s so far and in between sometime. You don’t even realize it until when you hear it your soul becomes rejuvenated. Even in reading this I feel refreshed and strengthened. It was a word spoken not just for Easter but all year round. Now you just long for it…remembering who, what, where and why…the music reminded you, just everywhere you heard about the power and the authorizing power of the blood of Jesus Christ. Bishop, keep us reminded. God bless you and may He continue to render you victor of even higher ground.
